Jackson's First Baseball Game

We took Jackson to his first Clemson baseball game on Wednesday night. He got there in the 5th inning, and the sun was beginning to set.  The weather was cooling off, and it was the perfect time to take him.  At first, he was unsure of the noise.  Then he liked it.  Of course, he likes to people watch.  The Tigers lost, but we still had a great time.

I love this one!

Jackson is 10 months old!

I can't believe that Jackson is 10 months old!  That sounds so big!
In fact, he is helping me type.

Jackson:

• Wears mostly 12 month clothes
• Wears size 3-4 shoe
• Wears size 4 diapers
• Says "Moma," "Hey,"
• He makes the "da" sound, and I think he has said "no."  He is also make g noises and b noises.
• He is still eating baby food and Puffs. He has been eating more and more table food. He likes peas, chicken, and bananas.  He does really well feeding himself.  I even made some homemade baby food (zucchini and squash) which he loved. He loves pancakes!  He shovels the little pieces in.  He also likes grits and still loves baby cereal. He is a good eater.
• He sleeps through the night with us.  Our house makes this difficult since our bedroom is upstairs and his is downstairs on the opposite end of the house.  He hates the Pack-n-Play and his bed. He usually goes to bed around 8:30 and sleeps to 6:30 during the week and 7:30 on the weekends.  We have all been sleeping late during Spring Break.  He is so sweet when he wakes up.  He taps me on the back or on my face until I wake up.
• He has 8 teeth and this cute little gap between his front teeth.
• We are working on crawling.  He will rock back and forth but still hasn't gotten it all figured out. He wants to, but can't figure out how.
• He scoots everywhere on his bottom. Sometimes, he even hops.
• He is trying to pull up on furniture and toys.  He can stand for a few seconds by himself.  He can take a few steps holding our hands.
• He waves bye bye now.  It is usually when we have already left or the other person has already left.
• He plays Patty Cake and claps all the time.
• Jackson loves to be around kids.  He wants to play with them.
• Jackson still loves to read especially the Peekaboo books and Llama books.
• We still sing "You are My Sunshine."
• He likes the "Itsy Bitsy Spider" again.
• He is quite opinionated.  When you give him a toy or book that he doesn't want, he will hit it.
• He is still basically on his same schedule.
• I love that he is such a happy baby.  He has the sweetest little laugh.  He thinks that Noni's dog Rudy is hilarious. He also loves Abby.
• He has so much more hair. It is still really light and fluffy.  He gets really sweaty when he takes a nap. His hair is everywhere when he wakes up.
• He has gotten so big.  It is amazing to think about how much he has changed in ten months.
• His favorite toys are his car, remote, learning table, trains, and puzzle.  He likes puzzles now.
• Jackson still loves Elmo and watching You Tube videos of Elmo.

Jackson is such a blessing!  Tim and I packed up some of his baby stuff today (baby rocker, pack-n-play, bouncy chairs, and lamb chair). It was very sad.  Tim even found a shirt that Jackson wore in the hospital.

Planting Flowers

We went this morning to go flower shopping at Soileau's Greenhouses. They always have the most beautiful and hearty plants. Jackson did not enjoy planting the flowers. He just wanted to scoot to the grass and eat leaves and grass.

Jackson's First Trip to the Circus

We took Jackson to the Shriner's Circus for the first time. Kristi got us tickets again.  We packed up all of the Ivey children and headed to Furman.  It was nice that we could all fit in one car. We got there and got good seats.  Jackson did not like the dark and noise at first. Tim and I took turns walking him out in the lobby where he enjoyed the people watching.  We went back in at intermission, and he was fine.  He enjoyed some cotton candy and played with the kids. He loved the cotton candy!  He liked the rest of the show.  He sat and watched the elephants and the motorcycle guys.  It was cute how excited he got.  Noni bought him a lights.  What trip to the circus is complete without a spinning light?

Meeting Bryn

We decided to take a quick trip to Charleston to meet baby Brynlee.  It was a great way to start out our Spring Break. Jackson and Noni came to visit me at school on Friday.  We were having Art Beat, and the kids loved seeing Jackson.  He had to show off for them.  He got so loud!  We left right after school and Jackson slept until Orangeburg. There was a lot of traffic so it took us longer than usual.  We stopped for dinner at Chick-fil-A, and Jackson enjoyed some chicken.

We got to Mike and Mardie's around 9.  Jackson was fascinated with Uncle Mike's facial hair.  He also loved the dogs.  We got to meet Bryn Saturday morning.  She is so precious and tiny compared to Jackson. You always forget how tiny babies are.  Jackson was really into her at first.  He wanted to touch her and rub her hair. He didn't like it when she cried.

We went to lunch at the Crab Shack.  Jackson kept trying to touch Bryn's car seat.  He enjoyed his Puffs and potatoes. We went to the outlets and found some cute shoes and clothes.  I know Jackson doesn't need any more clothes, but he has to look cute.  We left around 5 and headed home. We stopped to eat at Rush's in Irmo.  Jackson enjoyed his first visit there.  We got home close to 10, and someone thought it was party time!  He was so excited to be back home with his toys and bed.
