Today is Jackson's last day of Mother's Morning Out.  It was a rough start, but he really likes it now. Look how much he has changed since August!

Jackson's Two Year Check-Up

We had a busy day full of doctor's appointments and getting ready for Jackson's party.  I had an appointment at 9:00 with Dr. Hearn, and Jackson's appointment was at 10. Tim took Jackson, and I met them when I was finished.  Thankfully both doctors are in the same building. Jackson had a great appointment.  He did not fuss and scream, and he got to stand on the big scales.

Height: 33. 5 in or 2ft. 9.5 in (35%)

He is right on track for his development. He goes back in December for a 2 1/2 year check-up!  We are so blessed to have a healthy and happy child.

I had to spend the afternoon at school packing up everything. Thankfully I had a wonderful long term sub who did most of the end of the year stuff for me.  After about 4 hours, everything was packed (stuffed into cabinets). I am free from school until August!

We have a few more days until Jackson's birthday party. We are supposed to get a lot of rain from some tropical system. Hopefully it won't rain on Saturday!

Jackson is two today!  I can't believe it!  The time has gone by so fast.  It is hard to believe that 2 years ago today he was not even an hour old.  I can't remember what my life was like without him.  I am so blessed to be his mom!

Jackson woke up early this morning and enjoyed his Munchkins from Dunkin Donuts. We spent the morning playing and reading books.  He had Wendy's for lunch, and then we went to Noni's to play with the Ivey kids. Of course, Jackson decided that he would show off with his two year old attitude today!  He threw most of his food on the floor. Then we went to visit Kristi for a little bit before heading to Frodo's, Jackson's favorite restaurant! Jackson had lots of people there to celebrate: Noni, Papa J, Brent, Whitney, Parker, Kristi, Berkley, Ashlyn, Sydney, and Will. Berkley even won all of the kids big bouncy balls.  We had a great dinner. We headed back to Anderson after that.  Brooks cried the whole way home, and Jackson kept telling him, "STOP!" .  It was really funny!

We had cupcakes at Noni's, and Jackson opened some presents. He loved the Mickey and Donald cars.  After that, we went home to open more presents. Jackson was so excited for his truck!  He was a little scared at first, but he soon mastered getting in it.  He can go backwards but not really forwards.  I think that Jackson had a great second birthday!

The past two years have flown by, and I can't believe that Jackson is 2! My life changed forever two years ago. I have already learned so much from this sweet, little boy.  It is amazing how much he has grown in the past year.  He is talking and walking all the time! He is growing up so fast!  We are so blessed to be his mommy and daddy!

• Wears 2t (Sometimes he is picky about his clothes.)  He tries to dress himself.
• Wears size 5 diaper
• Wears 6 1/2 wide in shoes. He tries to put his shoes on and can definitely take them off!
• Loves cars, trains, and anything with wheels
• Loves to be outside (loving the water table and sandbox right now!)
• Favorite shows: Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Curious George, Doc McStuffins, Thomas
• Has become a very picky eater! He likes watermelon one day and hates it the next!  He will eat chicken nuggest from Wendy's and Chick-fil-A, pizza, macaroni and cheese from Mama Penn's, pastina, and yogurt.  He loves chocolate milk and drinks water. That is about it! Loves pouches!
• He counts to 13. He knows his colors. (Purple is his favorite right now.) We are working on our shapes and ABCs.
• He loves to get the broom and sweep. He does not like to clean up his toys.
• When you ask him how old he is, he can tell you 2!
• He loves to give "Rooksie" kisses!  (Brooksie)
• He can now have conversations with you. He knows how to say please, thank you, and you're welcome.  If you give him something, he says, "Thank you. You're welcome." He loves to say no.
• Favorite saysings: "I sleepy."  "I tired."  "What's that noise?"
• Has been testing his limits a lot. He has time out on the bottom step, and it is a struggle to get him to stay there.
• Is getting ready to finish Mothers Morning Out this week.

Brooks is 4 weeks old!

Baby Brooks is 4 weeks old! I will do a longer post for his one month post! He is so sweet and loves to sleep and cuddle! He is my kind of baby!

Bath Time!

Crazy Weather

We had some crazy weather today. This morning started with torrential rain and thunderstorms. It seemed to be clearing up, so we headed to school to attempt to pack up my classroom. That didn't last long. We went to Publix. Jackson was with my parents. While we were shopping, a man told us that there was a tornado warning. We quickly checked out and called my parents. They were in the bathroom, and we headed home. My called us when we were almost there and told us the storm was heading right towards our house, so we drove the other way. We could see the rotation in the clouds, but we never saw a funnel cloud. Once the storm moved on, we turned around and tried to go home. We couldn't make it because of all of the flooding. We decied to head to my parents' house. When we finally left, we saw this rainbow!

We have lots of thunderstorms, and usually a good many tornado watches. We hardly ever have tornado warnings with actual tornadoes touching down! It was very scary. I can't imagine how all of those people who live in the middle of the country feel!

Trains

Today we went to a train show in Mauldin. Brooks stayed with Noni and Papa J.  Jackson loved all of the trains.  He didn't want to leave.  In fact, we went to each display twice.
