A Day in Greenville

This has definitely not been the spring break we planned with the stomach bug, and let's add some food poisoning to it. Tim and I think it was from spinach leaves we ate Wednesday night.  It has not been fun!

I was finally feeling better today so we went to Greenville for the afternoon.  We started at the mall to see the Easter Bunny.  Even though the bunny has nothing to do with meaning of Easter and what we want the boys to learn, it is still something fun for them.  Jackson hopped right up there and smiled.  Brooks refused to smile.  He just sat and stared.

We decided to Build-a-Bear next.  We have never done that before. Brooks picked out a "raf" or giraffe. Jackson picked out an elephant. Jackson made his first. Then it was Brooks' turn.  He is a mess. When it was time for him to put the heart in his giraffe, he didn't want to give it up.  Then he did not want the poor girl to sew up his animal.  He kept crying, "Mine, mine, mine."  Then they gave their animals a bath. Jackson was really into that. Then we named them. Brooks named the giraffe Kiko, and Jackson named the elephant Goofy. Of course, we had to show them off to TuTu. Jackson was so proud of his elephant and his house.

We ate lunch at American Burger, home of Jackson's favorite grilled cheese at the moment. Then we went to the Children's Museum. The boys had fun running around and playing.  They did not want to leave.

We stopped by the "Airaplane " park on the way home.  Papa Jerry and Noni came by to help us finish the swing set.  The boys were so excited. Of course, Brooks already got knocked in the head.

Grits and Groceries

We went to lunch at Grits and Groceries with Noni and Tu Tu.  Brooks fell asleep on the way and slept all through lunch. He woke up in just in time finish up the grilled cheese and cake.  It was chilly so we had to sit inside. Jackson loved his grilled cheese and coke cake! Then we went to see the goats. There were lots of babies. Brooks loved the goats, and Jackson was a little scared.  It was funny to see.

Tiger Baseball

We are on Spring Break this week! Unfortunately, we have been under the weather. This bug hit us hard. Brooks and Jackson had it first with Brooks even throwing up at Skin's. That was fun. Poor Jackson kept complaining about being cold and having a headache. He wouldn't even eat Cool Ranch Doritos!  Then I got it-I didn't get off the couch yesterday. I didn't go downstairs even once. I slept most of the day. We all seem to be better today. We are praying Tim doesn't get it.

This morning we watched the trash trucks and went to the library. Brooks just likes to run so we weren't there too long. Jackson woke up wanting to go to Noni's. We dropped off the boys and ran some errands. When Noni dropped off the boys, it was clear she wasn't feeling well either. She and Papa Jerry were supposed to go to the game with us.

The 4 of us headed up to Clemson. When we got there, this man offered us some tickets. When we told him we didn't have cash, he told us to mail him a check! Then he gave us free waters and posters. The seats were really good too right behind home plate! We watched the first three innings. The boys were pretty good. We saw the Tiger so that kept the boys entertained.

Then we went to get a snack. Brooks got wild! He was running everywhere, trying to get into golf carts, screaming! He was out of control!

We decided to try the outfield away from most of the people. He was still wild climbing over seats! We had to leave at the top of the sixth! Poor thing had been stuck inside the past few days and just wanted to run!

As we were driving home though, Jackson said, "Thank you for going to the ball game with me." It was so sweet. I love my wild and crazy boys!

Palm Sunday

Today we all got to go to church as a family. I enjoy my second job, but I enjoyed getting to all be together more.

Jackson had to be there at 9:00 to rehearse. I was so proud of him. He went right in and sat in the pew. He held my hand for a few seconds, but he didn't cry or get upset. I told him I was leaving to get Daddy and Brooksie. He said okay and turned back around. I was nervous leaving him because I usually stay at church, but I went back home this time.

I made Tim get to church early, because Jackson was going to Sunday School after rehearsal, and that is something new to him. He was so excited to walk down the aisle waving his palm branch. All of the children's choirs sang one song, and then he came back to sit with us. He was really good. The older children's choirs sang the same song at the end, and he said, "Hey! That's my song!"

Of course afterwards, we had to take pictures at his favorite bench! Poor Brooks was ready to leave the nursery. He started crying when all of his other friends were leaving.

Jackson's Easter Party at School

Noni and I helped with Jackson's party at school.  I could only stay a little while since my kids were doing Art Beat.  We had a fun egg hunt and had a great Easter snack- ham, macaroni and cheese, rolls, apples, and cookies.
