Birthday Party

This afternoon the boys had their birthday party at church. We set up the jumpy castle in the gym and then food in the fellowship hall. This was the first party Jackson invited kids from his class.  This was also a party for Brooks since life was hectic around his real birthday. The kids had fun running around the gym.

We also had Buttons the clown. Their faces when he walked in were priceless. They loved it! Brooks was all in it.  I was really proud of Jackson. He did almost everything Buttons asked him to.  The best was when Buttons pulled out the huge dinosaur balloon for Brooks and the car for Jackson. Then all of the other kids got balloons too.

We spent the evening playing with new toys.

Touch A Truck

We went to the Saturday Market in Greenville today. Jackson wanted cinnamon rolls for his birthday. We also went to Touch A Truck there.  Jackson was all into it. Brooks was in a bad mood so he did not get on a lot. They did love beeping horns though. We couldn't stay long because we had to get ready for the party.

Jackson is 5!

I cannot believe my first baby is 5! Time has passes so quickly! It makes me so sad to think he is this big.

• Loves to hold Walker and pick on Brooks
• Just finished 4s preschool at Central and had a great year. He loved his teacher Mrs. Owens and had some of his good friends in his class.
• He has come so far and can pretty much recognize his letters and numbers. He loves to rhyme words and is always asking what words start with.
• Played soccer and t-ball. T-ball was his favorite, and he was pretty good at it. Soccer will always be special because he got his first trophy then! I think he likes t-ball because he has some friends on his team and loves his coaches!
• Wears size 5 and 6
• Loves to read books. He has "Little Red Truck" memorized. I love to listen to him read it.
• Still loves cars and anything with wheels.
• Likes to color and paint and pretty much stays in the lines
• Still a picky eater, but he does eat 5 peas every Sunday night at Noni's. He likes baloney (ham) sandwiches and Dorito sandwiches (bread, mayonnaise, and Cool Ranch Doritos)
• Loves Chick-fil-A and Wendy's. He also likes to eat grilled cheese at Earle Street and J. Peters, but he won't eat them at home.
• He loves that Noni takes him to Wendy's every Friday after school.
• Goes to bed by 7:45 and falls asleep quickly. 
• He likes to be on a schedule.
• He loves to play outside.
• He is a little hoarder and likes to put toys and things in baskets and containers.
• He still has his monkey blanket. He still sleeps with it sometimes, but doesn't take it to Noni's anymore. It makes me sad.
• He is very sensitive and gets his feelings hurt. 
• Has become very independent and does a great job cleaning up his toys. 
• Insists on saying the blessing before dinner and his prayers before bed

Last night as a 4-year-old

Clemson Regional

After an exciting day of packing up my classroom ( with Noni and all 3 boys) and finally getting my hair cut, we went to the Clemson baseball regional. Walker stayed with Noni, and we took Papa Jerry with us.

Jackson was mad because we weren't going to the football stadium.  It was also a million degrees, and we only had standing room tickets. We actually got a good spot on the hill. The boys loved running and rolling down the hill. It was an exciting game with lots of home runs. There were some really long innings, so we only made it to the 7th inning. It was lots of fun, and the boys loved their hotdogs and popcorn.

Last Day of Preschool

Today was the boys' last day of school for the year. Poor Brooks didn't get to go because he is still sick, so we took his picture in his pajamas.

I took Jackson to school (and didn't cry). He was excited about his water day. I watched a little bit. They had a great time playing " in the river" and getting muddy. I had to leave to take Brooks to the doctor, and Jackson wanted to stay. Noni picked him up and got some other pictures. I have been teary all week thinking about this day, so it was probably for the best that I didn't pick him up. We have been so blessed that he had a wonderful three years at this preschool. He has loved all of his teachers, and he has learned so much. I am so proud of how independent he has become. It breaks my heart that he won't be there next year. I have cried more tears over this decision than any other dealing with him.

I hate that Brooks didn't get to go today. He has loved school and being with his friends. I don't think he understands that he is not going anymore.

Brooks went to the doctor, and he has a double ear infection and strep. Last night was terrible. He had a fever of 103.8 at one point. He is now on antibiotics, so hopefully he will be better by his party on Saturday.

Jackson has been my buddy today. He helped me at school for a little bit. Then we went to the church ice cream social together. 

 

Poor Walker enjoyed being the third child today and hung out with Noni.
