Summer Fun

Jackson started Summer Fun at Central this week. He goes Tuesday and Thursday from 9-12. Ms. Cathey is his teacher again along with Miss Amanda. There are only 6 little kids in his class. Of course, he has cried when I dropped him off; I am hoping that gets better with time. He gets to play outside and do crafts. I think he has a good time once he gets there.

When I picked him up on Thursday, he was so sweet. They were waiting outside. When he saw me, he came running to me. I am not used to that. Even though I pick him up everyday from my mom's, he never runs to me or really pays me any attention. I really miss being the one getting to drop him off and pick him up from school. I am really soaking up every moment this summer.

Library

We all went to Story Time at the library.  Jackson usually just goes with my mom, so he did not want Brooks and I to go to story time.  We wandered around looking at books while Jackson enjoyed story time.  We walked into the room afterwards, and Jackson was excited to show off Brooks (maybe).

Summer Fun

One of my childhood friends was in Anderson visiting her parents this week.  Today we got together with her.  She has two precious little girls who were very sweet to Jackson.  They are a few years older and were very patient with him.  They ran around and played.  Then we went to Grace's for lunch.  Jackson ate another grilled cheese and even ate some French Fries. (They have free kid's meals there for kids under 4. :) Jackson was exhausted when we left and slept for 2 1/2 hours. He woke up asking for the girls.  It was nice getting to spend time with this sweet family. It was nice to have some adult conversation!  It was good for Jackson to play with other kids too.

Brooks- 6 Weeks Old

I know I start every post like this the same way, but it is true!  I can't believe Brooks is six weeks old.

• He is starting to smile a lot and coo some!  Jackson had him smiling this morning.  It was so sweet.
• He is outgrowing his newborn and is moving into 3 months.
• Wears size 1 diapers
• Eats 4 ounces every three hours ( will go 3 1/2 -4 hours at night)
• Still loves to cuddle
• Loves the swing
• Loves to go on walks
• Tolerates the carseat

Just the 3 of Us!

Tim went to Wyoming for a few days for his sister's wedding. There was just no way for us to take the boys. Tihey are too young to be flying anywhere. We hated to miss the wedding, but we are glad Tim got to go. It was hard being at home alone for those days. Thankfully my mom and dad helped out. Jackson spent each night with them, and I got to spend some quality time with Brooks (at all hours of the night). Of course, Jackson did not want to come home. He wanted to stay at Noni's. Even though I had Brooks, I longed for someone to talk to or really someone to talk back to me. Jackson's big thing right now is to say, "No tanks (thanks)." I would tell him that he was coming home with me, and he would say "No tanks!" I see where I rank!

We spent some time at my parents on Saturday to celebrate Father's Day early. We also made some Father's Day gifts. Please notice that Jackson loved putting the paint in his bus! Then we stopped to see my dad on Sunday before going to the airport to pick up Tim.

I was very brave and took both boys to the airport to pick up Tim. Once I got both boys in the stroller and got into the airport, I was tired. Jackson wanted out, and Brooks was a little fussy. I think every person in there was praying that we would not be on their flight. We walked around the airport for 15 minutes before Tim arrived. The boys were excited to see him. We ate dinner at McAlister's. Jackson actually ate a grilled cheese and applesauce. Who is this child? The boys gave Tim his Father's Day gifts when he got home. We all really missed him!

Summer is here!

Summer is officially here! The lightning bugs are finally out! Jackson and I looked for them the other night. He wanted me to catch them. He wanted no part of touching them though. We had a great time! Some of my greatest childhood memories are catching lightning bugs and putting them in jars or having races. I know this is horrible, but we used to pull off the lights when they were glowing to make jewelry. We would stay out until it was pitch black dark! Gotta love summers in the south!

Landon's Graduation Party

We spent Sunday afternoon in Greenville for Landon's graduation party.  It is so hard to believe that he has graduated.  I remember when he was born. Brooks enjoyed being held by everyone. Jackson was still a little timid about playing with Brynlee and Will.  He is like that though.  He likes to observe and take it all in first.  Then once he has studied the situation, then he will get involved.  He was like that with school, the bounce house, etc.
