Thursday in Clemson

Clemson played Georgia Tech on Thursday night.  My mom volunteered to watch the boys so we could go. Since we all worked, we just rode with my dad and went straight to the game. It was really chilly. Actually I was freezing. Hot chocolate helped, but I was numbly the fourth quarter. We left before the end of the game, but it was a nice Clemson win!

The boys both spent the night with Noni and Papa J. This was Brooksie's first night away from home. I hated to leave them! I miss thm  so much during the day. It was nice to sleep even if it was for only 5 hours!

A Busy Weekend

We had another busy weekend. I hope I finally get pictures uploaded next weekend. On Friday,we went to the Clemson basketball game.teachers got in free! We had dinner at McAlister's and then went to the game. Jackson just wanted to run. He didn't really care about the game, but Brooks loved it! He just stared at the court. Jackson really wanted one of those big fingers. They are $35; I don't think so! The Tiger walked behind us, and Jackson gave him a high five. The Tiger loved Brooks and held him and played with him. We left at the half.

I had class on Saturday morning. Then on Saturday afternoon I took Jackson to his first birthday party for one of his friends. He was a little unsure of everything at first. I think he really wanted to play but was nervous. He loved the hula hoop. Go figure. He did sit at the table and ate pizza and veggie straws. I finally got him in one of the bounce houses, but I had to get in with him! His friend Hudson and his mom got in too. Jackson had fun at Landon's party. When we left, he said, " I go back."

We ended the evening with Guy's pizza. Brooks took some of Jackson's breadstick and tried to eat it. It was in his mouth, and he was sucking on it!

We went to church on Sunday morning and then enjoyed afternoon naps. Brooks had squash for the first time. He made the funniest faces and spit most of it out.

We took a nice walk in the park and enjoyed the nice weather before it gets colder! We enjoyed our Sunday night dinner at my parents' house.

Jackson is a Comedian

I find Jackson to be hilarious.  He says the funniest things and makes me laugh all of the time!  He has so much energy! He asks questions all of the time! Brooks and I played and hide-and-seek with him for about 30 minutes the other night.  Who knew there were so many places to hide downstairs?

He is still obsessed with cars, knows all of their names, and can quote the movie. He really likes Doc McStuffins right now too.

• When he doesn't want to do something, he says, "No, me don't." or "No, my don't!"
• "Mommy, run fast!"
• "Where we going?"
• He says that chocolate milk is "tasty."

• "Brooksie, wake up!"

• "Hokey Hokey" (Hokey Pokey)
• "Milkshake."
• "My not go to bed. Thank you."

Brooks- 6 Month Appointment

Since I had a doctor's appointment too, I just took the day off. I got to ride with Noni to take and pick Jackson up from school.  I also got some extra cuddle time with Brooks. Jackson went with us to the appointment. Jackson does not like going to the doctor but we thought it might be good for him to watch Brooks, plus he had to get a flu shot. They were both pretty good. Brooks is doing great!

Weight: 19 lbs 11oz - 85th percentile

Length: 26 inches-22nd percentile

Head: 44.9 cm- 89 percentile

Brooks is 6 months old!

I can't believe how fast time has gone!  My little baby really isn't a baby baby any more!  He has gotten so big and can do so many things now!  It is so sad!  I do love this age though.

Brooks

• Wears some size 6 months but is mostly in 9 months
• Wears size 3 diapers
• Drinks 5-6 ounces every 3 hours
• Eats cereal (rice or oatmeal) twice a day
• Was sleeping through the night, but has been waking for an early morning snack between 1 and 3
• Has one tooth!
• Sits up by himself
• Grabs toys
• Can take his paci in and out of his mouth
• Blows raspberries all of the time!
• Giggles and screams
• Grabs hair (loves Jackson's)
• Smiles all the time
• Love to be held and to cuddle
• Still goes with the flow

• Favorite toys- Sophie, links, purple elephant, giraffe, crab rattle, bumblebee, and of course any of Jackson's toys

November is Here: Bring on Christmas!

Our house still has Halloween decorations up, but we spent the day in Atlanta getting ready for Christmas.  We made an appointment to see Santa at Phipps Plaza.  I got on the list during the summer and then signed up for a date back at the beginning of October.  We made a whole day of it.  My mom and Tu Tu came with us. We started at the Mall of Georgia for lunch-yummy Bourbon chicken!  Jackson loved the Disney Store and wanted everything in it!  Of course Tu Tu bought him a car. I did get Brooks a Halloween costume for next year.  He better like Mickey Mouse!

Then we went to Phipps.  Who doesn't want to see Santa when it is 75 degrees outside?  It really is a beautiful background and a great Santa.  I wasn't expected Jackson to smile, and he didn't. He screamed, but that was after he gave Santa a high five and fist bump. He did not want to sit near him though.  Brooks sat in his lap and just looked around.  We did not get a picture with either boy smiling, but it was still hard to choose just one. I loved the one with Jackson crying, but I settled on the best one of Brooks. It was definitely worth the trip, and I want to take the boys every year.

We ended our day in Commerce after some crazy traffic.

Halloween 2013

We had an exciting day!  My morning started out early with bus duty.  I was able to leave school for a little bit to go to Jackson's party at school.  They had a costume parade this morning and went from classroom to classroom.  These two year-olds had quite a snack- Munchkins, chicken minis, cheese, grapes, bananas, fruit cups, and of course sweet treats!  Jackson was surprised to see me.  He walked in with his class and went to sit on the rug.  They said the blessing and then found a seat.  He did want me to break his food into smaller pieces.  He did ask for more minis.  I slipped out so he would not be upset.  I don't think he noticed that I left.

The kids were pretty good at school, and the day passed quickly.  We got home and got dressed in our costumes.  We went to get Guy's Pizza and headed to Noni's and Papa J's.  We went trick-or-treating there first.  We tried to take Jackson to Sue's, but he was not interested.  He turned into a different child when the Iveys got there!  He was wild.  He went running up to the houses with them and said trick-or-treat.  Then he would say thank you. He kept saying there was a ghost.  Then he would yell, "Boo!"  He was all jacked up and did not even have any candy! We got some cute pictures of the boys and Parker.

Jackson kept saying, "I go back trick-or-treating."  He loved just running around in the dark and playing with the Ivey kids.  He is going to be disappointed when he finds out it only comes once a year!
