Sesame Street Live

We took the boys to Sesame Street Live today. They loved it! Brooks was especially excited! He danced, sang, and yelled. Jackson liked it too and even danced some. It was so fun watching Brooks.  The show even had some of Jackson's favorite songs- the Katy Perry Hot and Cold song and Super Grover. Jackson begged for a balloon, and I caved.  We enjoyed our fun afternoon.

We also stopped by the train show. Both boys loved it. Jackson liked pushing the buttons, and Brooks liked to say, "choo choo!"

Brooks is 16 months old!

Time flies!

Brooks:

• Still drinks a bottle at night
• Loves to eat watermelon, yogurt, strawberries, applesauce, peaches, cookies, Goldfish, crackers
• Loves Mickey, Sheriff Callie, and Doc McStuffins
• Loves to play with cars and trains and stuffed animals
• Loves to read- Llama Llama books,  books with sound, and That's not my... Books
• Loves to dance
• Loves to sing- Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes, Itsy Bitsy Spider, Wheels on the Bus
• Talks all the time- Ma Ma, DaDa, Rudy, cracker, stinky, bye bye, hey , yeah, car, kitty, Bubba, yum, night night, uh oh
• Knows what the dog, cat,tiger, and pig say
• Loves to eat paper including wipes, napkins, tissue
• Loves to make a mess- tornado
• Does whatever Jackson does!
• Loves to give kisses and high fives
• Loves to play in water and slide!

Clemson vs. SC State

We went to the first home game of the season.  It was a 12:30 start so we decided not to tailgate and head up around 10:00.  Not many people were going, and my dad had to work. Noni rode with us. It wasn't worth putting all of the tailgate stuff up especially with temperatures in the 90s. This is the first game that my dad has not been to in forever.  We missed him today!

We walked downtown and visited the ring replica. Then we headed to the stadium. It was miserably hot. Our goal was to make it to halftime. It didn't happen.brooks and I left with five minutes to go in the first quarter.  I was so hot that I paid $6 for a huge drink! I think there were more people under the stands than sitting in them. Tim left at the end of the first quarter. We went to get my mom and Jackson who were also sitting underneath the stands. I don't remember the last time I have been that hot. It was just in the low 90s, but the sun beats down on you in the stadium, and there was NO breeze. It worked out because we didn't have to wait in traffic after the game.

I am not sure if Brooks liked the game or he was just too hot to move. He just sat in Tim's lap. He would occasionally clap. We are hoping for cooler weather the next game.

Brooks' 15 Month Check-Up

Brooks had his 15 month check-up Friday. He was wild in the waiting room, but he dissolved in tears when Dr. Hart walked in the room. Brooks is doing great and is right on schedule. He had to get 2 shots, but he handled them well and didn't have any side effects.

Weight: 24lbs 7 oz ( 68th percentile)
Height: 30.25 inches (10th percentile)
Head: 47.7 cm ( 70th percentile)

First Friday Parade

We went to the First Friday Parade in Clemson.  It was a little warm, but the boys had fun. We took  the Ivey children with us and met Brent, Whitney, and Parker there. Brooks really enjoyed the band and all of the sorority girls. He waved constantly! Jackson had fun sitting with Murphy. After the parade, we let the kids run around! They had so much fun. We ended the evening with pizza at Noni's and Papa Jerry's.

Brooks' First Haircut

Poor Brooks.  He got his first hair cut at home.  The back was out of control and looking like a rat tail! I trimmed it at home.

Sky Top 2014

We went on our annual trip to Sky Top Orchard in Flat Rock, NC today.  We took Noni with us!  We got up there early to avoid the crowds. The boys loved playing on the playgrounds.  Brooks especially loved the slides. Jackson liked the playhouses but wanted to wait his turn.  He didn't understand that all of the kids could play in there together.

We picked lots of apples.  Jackson did a really good job this year.  Brooks thought they were balls and just wanted to throw them.  We were smart this year and brought our own wagon!  The boys loved the animals.  Brooks heard the geese and started making geese sounds. It was hilarious! Noni bought them food, and they loved feeding the geese and ducks.

We played on the playground more before taking a hay ride.  This was the first time we did the hay ride there.  The boys loved it, and Jackson did not want to get off.
