End of School

I have been out of school for 3 days now, and we have been busy.  The end of school was bittersweet this year.  I am really going to miss my class.  Plus one of my team members retired, and I am really going to miss her. Another friend is transferring to another school. I also moved classrooms from my tiny room to a much bigger one.  It was a pain packing and moving everything though!

We tried to go to the Greenville Drive game on Tuesday, but we ended up leaving since it was so stormy like crazy storms! The boys lovedthe trolley though!

I took the boys to preschool hour at the Anderson County Museum on Thursday.  Jackson pitched a fit and did not want to go, but he had fun.  They read some stories about Father's Day and then make a craft- a hand print Spider Man.

We went to the library next to register for the summer reading program and ran into some friends.

Then on Thursday night, we went to play golf.  Jackson and Tim were supposed to just go, but Brooks and I decided to ride along. The boys had more fun riding in the cart, but they both did putt some.  Jackson did hit some too. We had to end our adventure early because Brooks had a blowout! It was fun though.  Thank goodness no one was behind us!  Jackson kept saying, "This is so fun!"  He can't wait to go back!

We went to Eggs Up Grill on Friday and got ready for the big birthday party.  The boys ended up taking a shower on the deck tonight.  They loved it!

Tim and I are enjoying our last weekend of eating junk.  We are starting the Whole 30 on Monday.  We are actually only going to go 27 days since we will be leaving for the beach. We are getting healthy and trying to lose some weight!

Touch A Truck

Today was Touch a Truck at the Downtown Market. It was hot already by the time we got there. We looked at all the vendors and bought my favorite peach salsa before heading to the trucks. We started off with the trolley. All was fine until Brooks got in the drivers seat. He was loving it and pitched the biggest fit when I got him down. He did that with the first few. He kept shouting "Mine!" Jackson was a little more timid. He did get in the excavater with Brooks and got on the school bus. Brooks even got to dump the recycling can! I think they would have had more fun if it had been cooler.

We headed to the museum next. The boys love going. There is a new exhibit about Japan that Jackson really liked. He loved playing with the Japanese food which is funny since he would never eat it. They both got soaked at the water tables. We left to eat lunch at the Pickwick and then stopped by TuTu's mall to see her and try to see what Tim wants for Father's Day.

We ended the day with water table fun and dumping water every where. We ate on the porch and enjoyed the nice weather. Summer is almost here!

Busy Week

We have had a busy week wrapping up the last full week of school. It is no fun making up ice days! Last Sunday we went to Cookie's birthday party. The boys had fun playing with Will and his toys. Their favorite was riding in the golf cart or "ca" as Brooks called it. They rode several times and both had meltdowns when it was time to leave! It was a great afternoon spent with family!

Tuesday was Jackson's program at school. He did such a great job! He learned the Pledge of Allegiance, and does a great job saying it! Brooks did pretty well watching it. I had to rush out to get back to Awards Day. It was crazy!!!!  I am very thankful that Jackson had such a wonderful year. He loved Mrs. Harbin. She was really good for his confidence!

On Wednesday we had an ice cream social at church. The boys loved getting to put toppings on their ice cream Brooks said, " I cream. Yum!"then they ran around and played with bubbles and chalk. It has been really cool this week (low 80s) with lots of storms! We had another storm just as we were leaving church complete with lots of lightning and thunder. Brooks kept asking, " What's that?"

We celebrated Jackson's birthday on Thursday!

Tim and I went to dinner with some friends on Friday night while boys spent the night with Noni and Papa Jerry.  Also during this week, I have been moving classrooms. Genny and I have been in small rooms for 8 years, and now we are moving to bigger ones. We are excited for Melody, but we are really going to miss her!  I have thrown away so much! I am really sore from moving everything. I just have a little left.

Happy Birthday Jackson

I had bus duty, but luckily Jackson was up early so I could wish him Happy Birthday. Brooks kept telling him. Jackson wanted Little Caesars for dinner, and he had a Little Blue Truck cake. He couldn't understand that we were just having a small family party. He kept wanting to know why we weren't going to the Water Park. It was cute when we were singing to him. Brooks would just repeat the last word in the line. He had fun blowing out the candle and opening his presents. He was so excited!  When we got home, he got to talk to Grandmaand Grandpa too. He said their present " was all he had dreamed of!"

We had a great day celebrating our big four-year-old!

Jackson is 4!

It is so hard to believe that Jackson is 4! He has grown up so much this year.

• Will find out height and weight at checkup
• Wears size 4t
• Still a picky eater - loves applesauce, pizza, chicken nuggets, pastina, donuts, pancakes, cookies, cake, mint chocolate chip ice cream
• Eats NO vegetables! He won't even let us put them on his plate.if we fix something he doesn't like, then he chooses not to eat. 
• Favorite restaurants- Wendy's, Chick-fil-A, Skin's, Moe's, Scholtzsky's, Earle Street, Guy's Pizza, Little Caesars, Frodo's, The Pickwick
• Loves to play in water and just finished swim lessons
• Loves Cars, trains, tractors, and trucks
• Loves Legos
• Still sleeps with blank, Rex, a stuffed monkey, a stuffed elephant, and Baby Sister ( doll)
• Loves to read books- Truck Stop, Little Blue Truck, Llama Llama
• Likes to watch Tayo the Little Bus, Miles, Curious George, Cars movies, Planes Fire and Rescue, and Toy Story
• Likes to "play the tuba" (blowing on his arm to make noise) which he learned from Goofy on Disney!
• Loves music and likes to dance. They sing all the way to Noni's house each morning!
• Likes to sing Apples and Bananas, Jesus Loves Me, Sugar
• Had the best school year and learned so much!
• Has developed a really Southern Accent
• Likes to play "I spy with my little eye..."
• Likes to tell jokes- " Knock. Knock. Who's there? A banana diaper peel!" We don't get it, but he thinks it is hilarious!
• He knows a ton of words and phrases. It is funny to hear him say them - " That's what I have always been dreaming of!"
• Has become braver- will slide at playgrounds and the water park
• Still does not like trying new things or being in new situations ( so much like me)
• Still very clingy
• Is fully potty trained
• Likes to color and play with Play doh, likes to go to the museum
• Sometimes he likes to be a home body too- it is hard being away from your toys all week!
• Not big on animals( dogs and cats) but loves going to the zoo
• Plays really well with Brooks now
• Still likes to cuddle at night
• Loves his Noni! He wants to move in with her! I love their special relationship!
• Went to choir all year and goes to Children's Chirch sometimes

We are so blessed to have Jackson as our son! He makes us laugh and has the sweetest heart!

Jackson's End of Year Party

Jackson enjoyed his party, and I got to run over for a few minutes. I am thankful that my team watched my students for me. He wasso excited to get his teacher a gift. He picked out some of her favorite things-Oreos, paper, and a fake flower to go with a bag. He has had the best year.

Very Behind

I am very behind, and I really don't see myself catching up until is school is over, and we are in our summer schedule. I feel like the entire month of May has passed in a blur.  The only way I remember what we have done is to flip through the pictures on my phone.

This past week has been crazy busy, and I am exhausted! School work is never ending, Jackson has swimming lessons, and I was helping to host a retirement party. We have used this weekend to rest and run errands. I am still exhausted, and I feel really guilty.  Jackson must have said, "Play with me Mommy." a million times, but I just can't.  Brooks has told me a million times to "hurry up", and I just can't. Tim even put both boys to bed Wednesday night, just so I could have a few hours by myself.  I caught up on all of the season finales that I missed. I am so ready for our summer schedule and for life to slow down. I will not miss leaving the house at 7 and not getting home until after 7. I am also excited about reading a real book.

We have squeezed in some fun this weekend.  Tim took the boys to the Scottish Parade in Greenville Friday night while I went to the retirement party. The boys had fun and enjoyed pizza afterwards.  I had fun with all of school friends.  I am really going to miss Melody next year. We tried to go tot he Botanical Gardens on Saturday for a hike, but Jackson fell asleep in the car and woke up in a terrible mood.  A milkshake cured it though, and we ate dinner on the porch for the first time this year and played lots of tag.  The weather is perfect this weekend-low 80s.

I have 11 more school days and then a week of classes.  I think I can...I think I can... I think I can!

 We did enjoy the Tuesday night Farmer's Market with homemade Popsicle and a walk downtown.
