End of Summer Water Balloon Fight

We bought these water balloons to take the beach and never ended up doing them and then couldn't do them with Brooks. It was the perfect way to end the summer!

Clemson v. Wofford

Today was the first home game. We left at 8 to get donuts and ice. We were ready to tailgate by 9:30. We took Brooks to the Tiger Cub Birthday Party. Jackson did not want to go. He was having too much fun playing cars in the back of the van. Brooks enjoyed his cupcake and getting his picture taken with the Tiger Cub. We got to watch the Tiger Walk on the way back. Brooks loved playing in the dirt. He was filthy!

Jackson sat with Noni during the game. He made it about 5 minutes before he wanted his hot dog. Then they stayed under the stands and did some people watching. Brooks sat with us, and was really good. He loved watching the game and looking form the tiger on the field. " There he is!" He also did the Clemson cheer each time. I was surprised we made it through the first half. We also watched the band, but then he was ready. "I done, Mommy, I done." We left to get Jackson and found him and Parker playing in the misting station. They had so much fun and did not want to leave. Brooks fell asleep as soon as he got in the stroller! It was a great first game!

First Friday

Noni and Papa Jerry came with us to the First Friday Parade in Clemson. Thankfully it was not too hot. Brooks loved it.he waved to everyone and pointed. Jackson liked it too, but he did not want anyone to wave at him. They both loved the Wendy's Frosty!

We enjoyed dinner at Guy's Pizza. It was a great way to end a busy week!

Brooks's Arm

Brooks went back to the doctor today to have his arm checked. He did great and was happy.he didn't cry during x-Rays. He does not have to wear the brace anymore.his arm is still bowed, but it should straighten.the bone is still soft and healing, so he is not supposed to be too wild. Yeah, right! He let the doctor look at his arm. Then he waved and told her bye when we left. We are so thankful he had such an east time with the cast and the brace.

Jackson and Soccer

Jackson had his second soccer practice tonight. Brooks and I went so he could play with his buddy. Jackson was not clingy tonight, but he was super silly. I am pretty sure he is the youngest on the team. A lot of them are five and played last year. He gets distracted easily and does not like to run. I think some of it is that he misses Kelin's and loves to get to see him at practice. He just gets silly. He was super excited to wear his shin guards tonight.

Brooks loved running around with the soccer ball! He did better about trying to run onto the field tonight. Jackson practices again next week and then games start!

Where did August go?

This month has flown by! We have been so busy that we have not had time to catch our breath.  We leave by 7 and get home between 4:30-5:30. Then it's time to cook dinner, clean, get stuff ready for the next day, give the boys a bath, put the boys to bed, and start the whole process again. We don't have a free weekend in sight, and I have no idea when I will sleep in (later than 7:00). I am trying to convince myself that the busyness is a blessing. It means we have jobs, we have people to see, and the boys have activities. It is really exhausting though.

Jackson had his first homework this week. If this is what our future holds, we are in trouble. Last week they focused on the letter A. He had to find a picture of something that started with A, cut it out, and glue it. He also had to practice writing his name. It was torture for everyone.

Jackson also had his first soccer practice. He was very clingy at first and did not want to do anything. Brooks and one his friends were everywhere. He did better once Brooks and I left. He has practice twice a week. Games will start after Labor Day.

We also took a day trip to Charleston for Reed's first birthday party. We stopped downtown for hot biscuits at Callie's and lunch at Fleet Landing. The boys loved the boats. We walked down the dock, and Brooks was wild. Both boys ended up getting soaked in the fountains. Jackson started it, and thenBrooks wanted to join in. He ripped the brace off and handed it to me before running in the water.  It was so funny.

We had a great time at the party. The boys were excited to play with Brynlee, and they loved running through the sprinklers. Poor Brooks (and Jackson too) have missed out on so many water activities this summer. Thankfully they slept the whole way home.

We are celebrating Brent's birthday today and trying to clean up the disaster that is our house.

Clemson Fan Day

We had a great time at Fan Day. Brooks had the most fun. He really got into it. He loved getting all of the autographs. The cheerleaders were all asking about his arm, and he was proudly showing it off. He loved the Tiger. He caught on really fast how to pass his autograph book. He loved the players especially the ones who also had broken arms. He didn't hesitate to give them high fives and fist bumps.

Jackson didn't really care. He had fun running on the field, Brooks liked rolling on the field. We are excited about football season.
