A Littte Storyteller!

Jackson has become quite the storyteller. He came up with the story of the green bird taking Brooks' popi and taking it to her nest. The details do not change. He tells it exactly the same way every time he tells it.

Last night when I was putting him to bed, he made up a story about a frog in the bed. He would look under the pillows and tell me there was a frog in there. Then he would say, "Ribbit, Ribbit! I sit on frog!"  It was so funny. I could not stop laughing!

Brooks-10 Weeks and 2 month check-up

Brooks is getting bigger and sweeter everyday. Some of the 3m clothes are getting snug. Jackson and Brooks are starting to interact more and more. It is so sweet! We took Brooks to see Dr. Hart for his two month check-up. Everything looks good. He got 4 shots today and only cried a little.

Weight: 13 lbs 3 oz (59th percentile)
Length: 22 1/2 inches (13th percentile)
Head: 40.8 cm (85th percentile)

My boys sure do have big heads!

Brooks has the sweetest temperament. He must have the best dreams, because giggles out loud. It is so precious. For 4 nights, he slept 6-7 hours waking up between 5 and 6. Last night he was wide awake at 3. Oh well!  He is still eating 5 oz every 3 hours.

Farm Week

Our theme for last week was farm animals. We spent the week reading books about farms, identifying animals and animal sounds, and working puzzles. The petting zoo at the library fit in perfectly. On Friday, we went on a field trip to the Happy Cow Creamery in Pelzer. It is a full-working dairy farm. It definitely smells like a farm, and there is dried manure where the cows have walked. We did get some on the tires. Jackson thought it was hilarious. That is all he wanted to talk about: "cow poop on the wheels." He did enjoy tasting the cheese in the store and eating ice cream. We finally got him to milk the wooden cow. Ha!

Then we headed to Chick-fil-A for Cow Appreciation Day. If you dress like a cow, you get a free entree/meal. Noni, Jackson, Brooks, and I dressed up to get our free food. We had lots of fun!

On Saturday, we went to Roper Mountain for the Blueberry Festival. It was cloudy but cool. We had just gotten to the farm area when it started pouring. Jackson loved getting wet. He also loved the cow and calf. We spent most of our time in the science center looking at the animals. he is very cautious and not want to touch any. Brooks enjoyed the hike and being in the stroller.

We had a great time during farm week. I think Jackson will always remember the "cow poop on the wheels." That is all he has talked about!

Anniversary

Tim and I celebrated our 4th anniversary. It's crazy to think it was 4 years ago, and now we have two precious boys!  We celebrated with pancakes from our favorite pancake place in Hawaii.

Pajama Day

Today was Pajama Day at Summer Fun. Jackson was excited to wear his Mickey jammies. When I picked him up, I asked him which movie they watched. He said, "Princess.". He also told me they had donuts for a snack. That child loves donuts!

We met my mom and TuTu at Mama Penn's. It was Brooksie's first time going. Brooks enjoyed his first time in the Bumbo.

Brothers

I love these shirts!

Manse Jolly House

We took Grandma and Grandpa to the Manse Jolly house. Jackson was so excited to see Murphy, Maria, and Charlotte. He just wanted to run! Brooks enjoyed just hanging out!

Library Fun

Instead of story tine today, the library had a petting zoo. The weather was perfect : overcast and cool even though it was very humid! Jackson liked looking at the animals but did not want to touch any! He did like drawing with the chalk though.

Grandma and Grandpa's Visit

Grandma and Grandpa (Tim's mom and dad) have been visiting us this week. We have had lots of fun spending time with them and going on adventures. Jackson has loved having them here! He is really going to miss them when they are gone. Unfortunately, we don't get to see them very much. It is extremely difficult to travel with little ones. When the boys are older, it will be easier for us to go visit them in Wyoming. Luckily Skype is wonderful! It is not the same as seeing them often, but it is the next best thing.

We went to Atlanta and visited the Bass Pro Shop. Jackson liked seeing the fish and really wanted to run around the store. Of course we saw lots of Duck Dynasty stuff!

Then we to the Mall of Georgia to the Disney Store. I thought Jackson would be more excited. He did pick out some cars, but put them back without a fight. We enjoyed lunch and wandering through the mall before heading home.

We spent an afternoon wandering around Clemson and taking pictures at the Botanical Gardens.

We have enjoyed lots of good meals including pizza at our new favorite place- Guy's Pizza. We tried Palmetto Smokehouse in Clemson, and it was great. Jackson loved drawing on the tables! We had dinner with my parents, and Brent, Whitney, and Parker at The Smokin Pig, and it was wonderful!

It has been raining for days, so we have had to plan everything around the weather. We also went to the Downtown Market, the Zoo, and to ride the train.  Jackson was a wild man all morning!  He was not too happy about riding the train.  I think he secretly liked it, but didn't want anyone to know he liked it especially me!

We had a great visit with Grandma and Grandpa.  The boys loved spending time with them, and Jackson loved playing with them. We hate that we can't see them more often but Skype is the next best thing.
