Blessings of 2012

2012 has brought us many blessings. We have gotten to watch Jackson grow, learn to scoot, crawl, walk, and talk. It is amazing how much he has changed. We have also been blessed with New Baby. We can't wait to meet Jackson's baby brother or sister. We are also excited about baby Parker coming in March.  We were also blessed to get to go to Wyoming for Susie and Justin's wedding, and we are excited about Mary's upcoming wedding. We are very grateful for good health, our jobs, our time with family, and our house.

Jackson's resolution is to lose paci. He can no longer have it during the day and only gets it for naps and bedtime. He has actually done better than I thought.

I also have some resolutions. I want to get my house organized and get rid of clutter. My goal is to start running again and run a 5k by the end of the summer and hopefully a longer run by the end of the year. I also want to completely stop using credit cards, so I can get my last one paid off. I also want to finish my Master's plus 30; I only need 7 more hours. My main goal is to spend less time at work and more time at home with my boys.

Happy 2013!

New Year's Eve

We have spent the last day of 2012 being lazy and hanging around the house. Jackson did have therapy this afternoon and did great! He didn't cry, and walked down the hall with Mrs. Carol. He did the ramp and the stairs multiple times. He even said "up" when going up the stairs. We are now going every other week!

The highlight of my day was when Jackson said " mommy." He has only been calling me ma ma ma. It was so sweet. He knows I love it, so he keeps saying it! It is so precious. He has been pretty good today despite not taking a nap.

We enjoyed pizza for dinner and watched Clemson play in the Chick-fil-A Bowl game. So far it is tied, and Jackson has been cheering on our Tigers!

When he went to bed, Jackson came to give me a kiss and said, "Night Night." So sweet!

Updated-Clemson beat LSU 25-24 with a last second field goal! What a great way to end 2012!

Day After Christmas

We spent all day in our pajamas today!  It was wonderful!  Jackson went from toy to toy.  After several busy days, he enjoyed being at home and getting to play with his new toys.  He and I also took a long nap together on the couch!  It was perfect on this cold, windy day! I think Tim got bored with us, but we had a great day.  Tim and Jackson also set up the new train that Uncle Charlie got for Jackson.

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas!  Jackson woke up around 8:00 this morning.  We waited until 9:00 to go downstairs. Once Jackson saw the dump truck and bulldozers, he was done.  He didn't want to open any other presents.  He did manage to eat some apple pie swirl bread and some blueberry bread, but Tim and I opened all of his gifts. Noni and Papa J couldn't even get him to open any presents.  He loved all of his cars, trucks, and trains though.  He is into anything with wheels right now!

We went to my parents' house around 11:30 to open presents with them.  Again Jackson was spoiled!  I hope he enjoyed his last year of being the only grandchild!

Then we went to my Joyce and Ernie's house for a wonderful lunch and to exchange gifts with them.  Ashlyn and Alexa kept Jackson entertained!  Of course Jackson wanted Kelin's gifts and pitched a couple of really good fits!  He had gone all day without a nap a though.

Thankfully, he slept on the way to Greenville. We ate dinner at Kristi and Mack's. The kids got to open all of their gifts! Jackson loved his new trucks and balls for his ball pit! Then it was time to play White Elephant! Then Santa made his annual trip to the Griswalds! Of course, Jackson screamed when it was his turn to sit with him. Later he was fine sitting with Santa and the girls! After Santa left, Jackson kept going to the door saying, "Ho Ho Ho." Thankfully Berkley and Nichole kept him entertained! Before we left, we changed him into his pajamas hoping he would go to sleep. We got home around 11, and he slept through the night!

We had a wonderful Christmas.  We are so blessed to be part of such a wonderful family.  I hope that Jackson realized how very blessed he is to have so many people who love him in South Carolina and in Wyoming.  I know it is hard for Tim to be away from his family during the holidays, but Skype does make it a little easier.

Christmas Eve

The weather was absolutely horrible today- cold and very rainy!  We ran a few errands in Greenville today before coming home to make cookies for Santa!  Someone was in a really cranky mood and did not want to decorate cookies at all.

We also tried to Skype with Grandma and Grandpa and Charlie in Wyoming, but again someone was in a cranky mood!  He was not interested in opening his presents or talking to them at all.

The rain finally stopped, and we go ready for the candlelight service at church. I was really concerned about taking Jackson and leaving him in the nursery since he was so cranky.  When we got there, he went straight to the lady and seemed excited to be away from us.  He was in the same room as he is for school every week, so I think that helped.  After years of working in a church nursery, I never wanted my child to be that child who cried the entire time!  After the service, we went back to get him, and he was happily playing!  The workers said that he did great.  Of course, he came up to me pulling his hair.  I now hope that means that he has not pulled anyone's hair.

Then we went to my parent's house for shrimp and grits.  Again, Tim fixed us a delicious meal!

After that it was time to go home and get ready for Santa.  As we were driving, I told Jackson to look in the sky for Santa's sleigh tracks!  I used to love doing that on our way home from Nannie's house in Greenville on Christmas Eve.

We got home and got Jackson in his new Christmas jammies.  Then we put out the cookies for Santa and attempted to get some pictures in front of the tree. I wanted to read some Christmas stories about Jesus and some new one's from Grandma, but someone was done.  Off to bed to wait for Santa!
