Another Weekend

It seems that I only post on weekends, but I just don't have time for it during the week. The start of another school year has been busy but good. Tim and I both are putting in long hours. We are looking forward to Labor Day!
This weekend we headed to Charlotte for the Darius Rucker/Brad Paisley concert. We bought tickets earlier in the summer for $10 each. I knew it was coming up, but it still snuck up on us! We had fun surrounded by all of the drunk people. I have never understood why people spend money on concert tickets just to get so drunk that you know they won't even remember being there! People watching was fun though. Darius Rucker was great, and he played a lot of Hootie. I loved every minute of it! Brad Paisley always puts on a good show. We have seem him before and have not been disappointed. However, this will be the last time I put Tim in charge of taking pictures at a concert. I am surprised his sisters didn't teach him better!

On Saturday, we spent the day cleaning house and doing laundry. We also went to see The Switch with Jennifer Aniston. It was a cute movie. We have been to two movies in two weeks! That is a record for us! We are already counting down until next weekend!

Clemson Fan Day 2010

Why is it always so hot on Fan Day! We were supposed to only have scattered showers yesterday and more widespread showers today. It rained all day yesterday, and we had blue skies today! Not all of the Griswalds could come today, so it was a bit different from our tailgate last year. Tim and I went with Mom, Dad, Charlotte, Murphy, and Maria. We met Tu Tu, Landon, Ellison, and T.J. up there. Of course this year the kids didn't really care about getting shirts signed. That actually turned out to be a good thing, because we weren't forced to wait in all of the lines! Dad enjoyed seeing all the players up close. It is always nice when you meet new people while standing in line. Hopefully, Tim and I will get to couple of games this year!

Birthday Weekend

I enjoyed a great birthday weekend last week! (It was also my last weekend before I officially start school with kids!) We got up early on Saturday and went to eat breakfast at Mary's Cottage. It was really cool for an August morning so we sat outside and enjoyed the Shriner's parade. The peanut butter banana French toast was so yummy!

Then we head to the Saturday Market and wandered around. We bought some fresh peach salsa. After that Tim, being the wonderful husband that he is, hot glued everything on the walls in my classroom. I am a little picky, so I know that he didn't have any fun. It was nice to have the help though. With all of the construction, getting a classroom ready in 3 days has been difficult!
We also went to see Eat, Pray, Love. I have to say that I was a little disappointed in the movie. I absolutely loved the book. The movie just seemed to drag. Parts of it were just really boring. I don't know if it was because I was exhausted or what. I did enjoy the Italy part, and it made me want to go back really badly. (Tim and I are thinking about going for our 5th anniversary?) I also enjoyed the Bali part. That could be a fun place to visit too.
On Sunday, we spent the day at my parent's house helping out with the kids. Charlotte's birthday is on Tuesday, so she picked where we went to dinner. Pizza Buffet, here we come! It was actually pretty good. Of course, I ate mostly dessert pizza, but it was my birthday. Then we head back to Mom and Dad's for cake. Tim did a good job picking it out: a Holly zebra, red velvet cake! It was so good!

Tim, thanks for a wonderful birthday weekend! I loved my t-shirt and necklace! Mom and Dad, thanks for the jacket, Marshall's gift card, frame, and Fontanini piece! I am so lucky to have such a wonderful husband and family!

Litchfield

I have decided that I would live at the beach if I could. We had a great time spending the week at Litchfield with my entire family-the Griswalds! Our house was very nice, and we had wonderful food-crabs, fish, lowcountry boil, Eggs Up Grill, lasagna, and shrimp and grits. We spent every day on the beach, and we had great weather until the very last day! Of course, no beach trip would be complete without a card game, a visit to Alice's grave and the Hammock Shops. We can't wait until next year!

Charleston

Tim had to present at ETV on Thursday, so we decided to go ahead and down to the beach early. We spent Thursday and Friday in Charleston. Of course, I think we picked the hottest time to go! There was a heat index of 120 on Friday! We still had a great time though. We stayed at a wonderful hotel, the French Quarter Inn. We had champagne when we checked in, then there was a wine and cheese reception, followed by cookies before bed! We definitely want to stay there again!

On Friday, we ate breakfast at the Sea Biscuit and took a nice long walk on the beach. Then we headed to the Firefly Distillery where we got to sample 6 different kinds of Firefly. The new lemonade is definitely my favorite (We bought 2 bottles!). We also did some shopping in Mount Pleasant and then ate dinner at The Wreck! We ended the night walking downtown. Thankfully it did not feel as hot as it was supposed to.
