Jackson Fun Day

After a long week getting back on schedule, a family day was much needed. With me working 10 hour days, I feel like I haven't seen Jackson and Tim all week. We headed to Greenville for the day and went to the Saturday Market. We took Jackson's car since he hates the stroller so much. He was the center of attention driving his car downtown. We ate our usual pancakes and grits at Mary Beth's. Jackson was very good and even got compliments on his behavior from other people.

Next we went to the Zoo. We have had much cooler temps lately so it was a perfect morning. Jackson really liked the monkeys this time. Of course, the giraffes were still a favorite. The baby giraffe will be here soon. He was so good driving his car all around the zoo. We love our zoo pass!

We went to the mall for some shopping and then headed home.

Mother's Morning Out Drop-out

Jackson's first day at Mother's Morning Out did not go as well as we had hoped. I rushed over from school to meet my mom and Tim. We walked in, and there were some smaller babies. Jackson started playing with this Elmo piano and seemed content. His teachers were very nice. While he was playing, we kissed his head and snuck out.  I was proud of myself for not crying, and I headed back to school. An hour later my phone rings, and it is Jackson's teacher. Apparently he was very mad and upset.  She thought it would be best for Noni to come get him.  So, he only made it an hour.

I knew it would be hard for him, and I knew he would cry. I just hate that he didn't stay long. Once he stars walking, he can move up to the toddler class. We will try again next week. He is only going to stay an hour to help him get used to it.

First Day of School

Here is the morning of my first day of school. Poor Jackson did not like getting up so early!

Quick Weekend Trip and Clemson Fan Day!

We drove to Charleston early Saturday morning. We enjoyed some play time with Brynlee and even got to see Michael and Emily.  Tim and I went to the Hootie and the Blowfish concert while Jackson and my mom visited with Mike, Mardie, Laurel, Brent, and Brynlee.  Tim and I ate dinner at Red's and then headed over to Daniel Island. The concert was great, and the weather was perfect.  They played all the Hootie stuff plus some other singles.  We love Darius Rucker!

We woke up early on Sunday morning to make the trip back home.  We had to get back for Clemson Fan Day!  The weather was nice again.  I have been when it was miserably hot, so we lucked out.  Jackson was good.  He didn't spend much time in the stroller. Imagine that.  He got his picture taken with the Tiger and Tiger Cub.  Of course, he got his t-shirt signed.  It always amazes me the number of adults in line getting things signed!  It started clouding up, and we made it back to the car just in time before the sky dropped.  The Ivy children had a great time, and we celebrated their birthdays when we got home.

Lesson Learned

A lot of my posts are missing pictures.  I am so upset that I lost some of these.  I was trying to transfer them from my camera to the computer.  Someone was trying to help me with that by hitting all of the keys.  I am not sure what happened, but they aren't on the computer, and they aren't on my camera.

Wyoming and Susie's Wedding

We headed out Wednesday afternoon for Wyoming. Our plane left late afternoon from Greenville. We made it through security and got on the plane. Jackson did great flying! We had some turbulence so as I am gripping the seat, Jackson was holding onto my shirt. We had a very short layover in Cleveland. The flight to Denver was about 3 hours. I thought I would never get off that plane. Jackson went back and forth. Then he pushed the window shade up and down. We had snacks, read books, but we did not sleep. It was exhausting! We got to Denver around 8:30, rode the train to baggage, rode the bus to get the rental car, and headed to the hotel. Jackson stayed awake until we got on the rental car bus.

We all slept hard and then went to eat breakfast. The Embassey Suites is a great place to stay with Jackson, the breakfast lover. We were on the road by 9. I love the drive to Laramie because you can see so far. The landscape is so different from SC. We drove through Cheyenne before going on to Laramie.  We stopped at the highest point on I-80 before going to Grandma and Grandpa's house. Jackson was excited to see everyone! He learned some new tricks while in Wyoming.  He can now climb up the stairs.  He did it several times and was so proud of himself.  He also enjoyed playing with some old toys, but the blinds were probably his favorite!

The rehearsal went smoothly. Jackson loved walking along the pews.  The rehearsal dinner was great.  Jackson was a little tired, but he was able to hang in there for awhile.

We spent the wedding day decorating the church.  Jackson needed a nap, so we drove around for an hour so he could sleep.  It is hard to get him to take naps when we are not at home.  After lunch, we took Jackson to a splash park.  It is so nice.  I wish we had one in Anderson. Jackson loved being in the water.

Then it was wedding time!  Susie was beautiful and so was the wedding.  Jackson was good for the most part. He slept during the first part, and then got a little restless.  We stood at the back, and he behaved. After pictures, we headed to the reception.  It was the Depot, and the building is beautiful!  Jackson enjoyed the food and watching all of the trains go by. He also liked dancing to the music. We are so happy for Susie and Justin!

We had to leave by 9:30 to get to Denver on time.  We were running a little behind, so that was stressful. We finally got to the airport and made it through security. The flight to Chicago was good.  There were kids in front of us and behind us, so they kept Jackson entertained. Of course he still wanted to go back and forth. We had a short layover in Chicago. We had to change terminals and had to ride a bus on the runway.  It was kind of scary being surrounded by big planes driving around. We got McDonald's for dinner. That was twice in one day which is 2 more times than Jackson has ever had.  He is now a fan.  It was neat seeing the city as we took off.  I would love to go to Chicago one day.  Jackson finally got some sleep on the plane.  He slept the whole flight from Chicago to GSP.  It was late when we got in, and thankfully my parents picked us up. By that time, Baby J was wired.  He was excited to see Nonni and Papa J.  Tim and I were exhausted, but he did not go to sleep until well after midnight!

We had a wonderful time on our trip.  We only wish that we could have stayed longer!

So I had a lot more pictures from the wedding, but someone was trying to help me at the computer and deleted all of those pictures.
