Olympics

Jackson and I have spent a lot of time watching the Olympics.  Swimming and gymnastics have been our favorites so far.  Sometimes, Jackson will stop playing and start clapping during a race. It is so cute. We are Michael Phelps and Ryan Locte fans!


Getting Jackson to sleep in the crib has been grueling just like I imagine training for the Olympics is. He slept in there for three nights.  I think the word sleep is a stretch.  He stayed in the crib for 3 nights, but hardly slept.  Every time I woke up (which was often) and looked at the monitor, he was sitting up.  He would sit up until he fell forward asleep.  Needless to say, he has been very cranky.  He has been very unhappy and also refuses to nap during the day. I think he is afraid that I will put him in the crib if he falls asleep. He does not want to go in his room and has started freaking out after his baths.  He will start shaking and screaming.  It is really very sad, so Jackson won.  He is no longer sleeping in his crib.  We have two upcoming trips where he won't have his crib. We will try again in a couple of weeks.  Jackson-1, Mommy and Daddy-0.   He has been a happier baby these last couple of days, and we all have gotten sleep. I just don't think it is worth everyone being miserable especially the last couple of days of summer.
