Brooks is 16 Weeks Old

I feel really badly that I have been slack with the weekly updates for Brooks! He was such a sweet and easygoing baby!

  • Wears size 2 diapers and has gotten chunky!
  • Wears mainly 3 months, but some of those are getting tight!
  • Eats 5 oz every three hours and 6oz at night and in the morning
  • Sleeps all night! Takes his last feeding between 9 and 10 and then sleeps until 6! I am loving that!
  • Still sleeps in the rocker but we are transitioning him to sleeping flat
  • Loves to be held
  • Loves to swing or play in a bouncy chair
  • Still spits up A LOT!
  • Talks and makes noises all the time
  • Is very ticklish and will just cackle!
  • Loves to play with the purple elephant
  • Is doing great holding up his head
  • Has been trying to sit up and pull himself up
  • Hates tummy time and has rolled off his tummy a few times
  • Likes a bath
  • Likes his playmat
  • Loves Jackson even though I think he might be scared of him
  • Is so cute when he and Parker are together.
  • Does not mind the car seat but prefers when I ride in the back with him.
  • So easygoing; we can take him anywhere
  • Hardly ever cries!
We are so blessed with this sweet little boy! I can't believe he is almost 4 months old!

Saturday!!!!

We made the most of every minute of this beautiful Saturday. We have had an unusually cool summer, and today was gorgeous! We started the morning at the Saturday Market in Greenville to get some peach salsa. This is the last of it until next summer.

Jackson decided he wanted to go to the Children's Museum. We love it there because Jackson can run! Today he really liked putting the balls in the tunnel, decorating the cakes, building with the blocks, and playing at the giant water table. It is so nice to be able to drop in for an hour and not feel like we are wasting money. That membership has been wonderful.

Then we headed to the mall to get Jackson new tennis shoes. They were having a sale, so got a pair of navy ones and Lightning McQueen ones. Have I mentioned that Jackson is obsessed with Cars? We watch it nonstop, and we play with cars all the time!

After lunch, we went to Costco for more diapers and wipes. I think I work to pay for diapers, wipes, formula, Smoothies, and applesauce! We also went to Clemson to pick up some Game Day shirts. We picked up Guys Pizza on the way home.

We decided to go to the water park at the YMCA. It is only open for one more week. Jackson loves to splash and has started putting his face in and blowing bubbles. Brooks loves to put his feet in the water. He also loves when the spray gets him. We ended the night with swinging and baths.

It was so nice to spend the day with my boys!

Jackson's First Week of Preschool.

Jackson started preschool this past week at Central. Please remember this is the same place he went to Mother's Morning Out and Summer Fun. I knew he would cry and be upset. His teachers thought it would be better for him to go through the car line, so Tim and I let my mom take him. He screamed when the lady he took him out of the car. I totally get how that would freak him out. It was a stranger taking him out of his car seat. The first day they only stayed two hours. Mom said that he was screaming her name as she drove away. When she picked him up, he was wearing different clothes. Apparently, he got so upset that he either started coughing or gagged himself and threw up. Poor thing and his poor teachers! He supposedly enjoyed the second hour. I guess it was a good thing we sent gift cards that first day!

The second day he did not cry as much and seemed to enjoy his snack and playing in his classroom. At 11:00, they went to play in another room off the gym. I guess that really upset because he started crying again. His teachers decided to call Mom since he had had such a good day. They did not want to end on a bad note. Jackson was not crying when she got there, but she could tell he had been. Of course, he started again when he saw her. We are hoping for a better week next week!

First Week of School

Well, we all survived the first official week of school. Even though I have missed the boys tremendously, I know they are loving being with Noni. In fact, Jackson usually tells me to go back to school when I go get them. We are trying to do fun things in the evening like take walks, get ice cream, or go to the water park.

Pictures

I am still having problems with pictures.

Fan Day

Today was Fan Day at Clemson, and the weather was perfect! It was overcast and cool. They changed the organization, and I liked it a lot better. We waited in line an hour and fifteen minutes before the gates opened. Then it took us 45 minutes to go through the defensive line and get autographs. Brooks slept through the whole line; the players loved him though! We also stood line line for The Rock and got some great pictures. We did not wait in the crazy line for the offense. I don't think we would have made it before the gates closed.

The Iveys had fun, and Berkley and TJ were a big help with the boys. We met TuTu and Kristi in the parking lot. We planned to hang out until the players left the stadium. Jackson was having a great time running around. Then the bottom dropped, so we decided to head home and celebrate the Ivey's birthdays.

We had a great weekend, and now on to the stressful first week of school!

Birthday Weekend

My birthday always falls during the first week back to school. Things are crazy, and we are all exhausted! Friday night we enjoyed Guy's Pizza and then a yummy Holly cake. I got some cute frames and a gift card. Jackson and Brooks painted me a picture. I am also getting a newborn picture of Brooks framed. I enjoyed spending my birthday with a quiet evening.

We all slept late on Saturday ( I mean past 7). We had a much-needed lazy morning and then ran some errands. We had to get stickers for Jackson's class. Then we spent the afternoon with some of my day's family. We have not seen Matt in a long time. We got to meet his sweet girlfriend, Angela. We enjoyed a great lunch. Jackson was WILD. He loved playing with Alexa and Ashlyn and loved having an audience! It was great spending time with the Jackson side.

Preschool Orientation

It was a long first week back to work. Jackson started out saying, "No Mommy, don't go to work. Stay here ." By the end of the week, he was saying, "Mommy, go back to work." The week was definitely harder on me than them. We survived and even managed to go to the water park before the weather turned colder!

On Friday, we took Jackson to preschool orientation. Of course, it was pouring rain! Jackson was very unsure even though he was just there for Summer Fun. We walked into his class, and he immediately wanted to leave. He kept saying, " I ready." While I was completing some paperwork, he was playing with some cars. All of a sudden, I heard him scream! He was really upset. I didn't find out until later that a little girl had taken one of the cars. I really like his teachers and. Hope that he settles into the routine quickly. Luckily, Noni knows one of his teachers. Because of the rain, I didn't get any pictures.

Last Days of Summer

We had busy last day of summer vacation. Jackson got another haircut. He was so good and hardly whined at all. Then we headed to Greenville to the zoo. It is definitely one of our favorite places. Jackson loves running there! We also made stops at a consignment sale and Costco. We ended our night playing with water table and drawing with chalk. Jackson was soaked. He kept pointing to his drawings and saying, "I made that!" He also kept saying, " I'll see ya'll."  He is so funny!

I have been having issues with Blogger that are making it difficult to post pictures. I am hoping to catch up this weekend before I go back to school.
