Busy Weekend

The last weekend of April has been busy for us. Jackson was not feeling well so we ended up taking him to the doctor. We were thinking it could be an ear infection, but it wasn't. It was probably the end of an upper respiratory infection. He seemed to feel better so we ran some errands in Greenville. On Sunday, Jackson stayed homes itch Tim while I went to church. Then Jackson and I went to Greenville for Ashlyn's baby shower.he wa sa little flirt and showed off all of his tricks.it was nice to getting to spend the afternoon with family. We can't wait for Baby Will!

Therapy

I have decided that I am probably going to need therapy after Jackson finishes his PT. he is going through this thing where he screams the whole time we are there. He starts out okay, and then he begins to cry uncontrollably. It is awful to have to watch. Che still refuses to crawl. Tim went with us again today. Jackson and I took a nap when we got home. It wears us both out- him physically as and me mentally/emotionally. Jackson has been saying "momma" a lot. He is learning how to give high fives. He has also started pointing. He especially loves to point at the birds. He is still scooting/hopping everywhere. He plays peek-a-boo. I love how his hands wind up at his ears sometimes. It is so cute!

We ordered Mellow Mushroom a couple of days ago.  Jackson tried to help himself!

Jackson's New Playroom

Another busy weekend is over, and it is back to work. We spent Saturday in Greenville running errands and picking up Jackson's birthday present. Tim fixed a great dinner, And we enjoyed a long walk.

Jackson is at the cutest age (46weeks). He loves to explore and is very nosy. He has certain toys and books that he loves. He likes to Patty Cake and play Peek-a-boo. Sometimes he doesn't quite gets his hands to cover his ways; they end up covering his ears. It is so cute. He has really started interacting with other kids. I love to watch him at church and with the Ivey kids.

We spent Sunday afternoon turning the upstairs den into an official playroom. We rearranged furniture and toys. Tim put together the shelf we got at Ikea. It definitely looks less cluttered. We need a bigger house to hold all of Jackson's stuff.

Little Man

Jackson amazes me everyday with all of the new things he is learning. He is talking more and making different noises. He is starting to wave "bye bye" consistently. He can stand for a few seconds. He still scoots everywhere on his bottom, but we are working on crawling. He came really close today at therapy! Tim came with us today, and Jackson almost crawled. Of course, he was crying but so close. Today was the closest he has come on his own. He stood on his own for about 5 seconds. Mrs. Kelly was impressed too.

Sunday

Jackson has gotten back into his usual routine. He has been sleeping later and wanting to stay up later.  He now says "bye bye" and "Da Da."  He loves to laugh and play! We are working hard on crawling, but he still likes to scoot. He loves to stand up and has moved down the couch on his own. He is getting so big and independent!

Last Day of Spring Break

Today is the last day of Spring Break, and I am depressed!  I have loved being at home with Jackson and Tim.  We enjoyed another pajama morning even though a certain somebody woke up early (7:00 is early for Spring Break.). We went to pick strawberries.  Last time, I was very pregnant.  This time was not really any easier, because Jackson did not like it when I would bend down to pick strawberries.  The weather has been so warm that the peak picking time is a whole lot earlier.  There is nothing better than a fresh-picked strawberry!

Jackson and I played this afternoon.  He has learned how to get out of his blue chair, and he is working really hard at pulling up.  He can stand on his own for a few seconds.  We also worked on crawling today.  The remote is a great motivator! Jackson also likes the Itsy Bitsy Spider finally.  His favorite part is when the rain falls down. He thinks it is hilarious!

We had free meals at Bojangles so we met my parents for dinner.  Baby J loved his chicken, biscuit, and bananas.

Jackson really enjoys taking a bath now.  He loves to play with all of the toys and spin around in the duck.  He doesn't mind washing his hair or if water gets in his face. (We signed him up for swimming lessons, so we will see how that goes.) However, he does not like getting out of the tub.  He cries and pitches a fit putting on his diapers and pajamas.  He does not like to change clothes now.

He is talking so much now.  He babbles all of the time.  I wish I knew what he was saying!  We are trying to teach him some sign language.  We will see how that goes too.

Tomorrow is going to be hard for all of us. I will miss all of my Jackson time.

Jackson's First Easter

Jackson celebrated his first Easter yesterday. It was a special day!  The Easter Bunny came to see Jackson and brought him some new books, a new backpack, a swing, baby crayons, Puffs, and a chocolate bunny!

Jackson and I headed to church Sunday morning where he got to play with his church friends. He loves to go down the slide and watch the other kids run around.  He also got to be around two new babies.  He did good and did not seem jealous.

Jackson ate lunch at Noni's where he got another basket.  He got some new stuffed animals, paci, a new cup and another chocolate bunny.

Then we went to Greenville for Easter lunch.  Jackson more Easter surprises to celebrate his first Easter.  We had a great lunch and Jackson ate macaroni and cheese for the first time.  He loved it! Jackson went on his first Griswald egg hunt.  I always loved them as a kid at my grandmother's house.  She had a huge yard.  We would get so excited waiting for them to hide the eggs.  Most of the eggs always had money!  The eggs were hidden on cars and on people.  Since Jackson was the youngest there, he got to hunt for eggs by himself before the bigger kids got to.  He loved to try to eat the eggs!

Then Jackson and Tim went inside to watch the rest of the Master's.  Jackson refused to take a nap but slept through the last holes.

We headed home and then got to Skype with Tim's parents. Even though Jackson was tired, he still talked and showed off some of his tricks.

It was wonderful to get to spend Easter with family.  We are excited that Baby Will will be here for next Easter.

More Spring Break Fun

We took a day trip to Charlotte yesterday after we ate breakfast with Noni and Papa J at Mama Penn's. We went to Ikea.  That place is crazy and overwhelming, but the prices are so great!  Jackson was really good until we were standing in line, and then he was done.  After a lunch of chicken and sweet potatoes and a bottle in the car, he was good to go!

Tu Tu got him this shirt.  Notice the cute monogram!

We went to the Pendleton Jubilee this afternoon.  Jackson had his first ice cream-banana.  He loved it and wanted more!

Jackson's First Easter Egg Hunt and First Time Decorating Easter Eggs

We had a very busy day getting ready for Easter.  Of course we want Jackson to know the true meaning of Easter, but we enjoyed having fun with it too.

Jackson went to his first Egg Hunt at Clemson First Baptist today.  He found 3 eggs!  He mostly just wanted to eat the eggs and shake them!

Then we got home for lunch.  Jackson and I cuddled and napped on the couch.  By the way, there is nothing better than cuddling with my baby. We both sleep so soundly!

We also decorated eggs.  Again, Jackson just wanted to eat them.  At this age, that is all he wants to do!
