12 Weeks Old

I know I say this every week, but WOW!  I can't believe Jackson is 12 weeks old!

We were a little lazy this morning, but we headed to the Downtown Market at 9:00. Jackson was in a good mood and we enjoyed the cooler morning.

We headed to the Chocolate Moose for breakfast.  What could be better than a key lime cupcake and coffee for breakfast?  I have not had a cupcake from there in forever!  It was so yummy!

Then we went to the Dog Bakery next.  We have never been there before, but Jackson wanted to buy Rudy a treat.
It was starting to get HOT, so went to Costco to look for Brent's birthday present.  We didn't find what we were looking for, but we did find Carter's Halloween costumes for $12.99!  At the Carter's Outlet, these were $40, and they were $22 at Belk's.  Yes, Jackson already has a monkey costume and a tiger costume that will probably be too big, but we tried some on anyway.

I fell in love with the dragon, so we bought it for next year! You can't beat $12.99!

We stopped at Noni and Papa J's to give Rudy his treat.

At home, Jackson worked on his stretches!

What a week!

What a week we have had!  It has been crazy!  Jackson did really well going to Noni's, and seemed to be in a good mood most days even though he didn't sleep very well at night. He was up at 2 every morning!

We all survived our first earthquake on Tuesday!  As I was sitting at my back table at school Tuesday afternoon, I noticed that the table started moving back and forth.  I really thought nothing of it because it is a rickety table.  At the time though, I wasn't writing or even touching the table.  Then I checked my email and Tim said that he had to evacuate a school in Greenville because of the earthquake in Virginia.  I checked online and sure enough there was a 5.9 earthquake in Virginia. Because it was so shallow, we were able to feel it 400 miles away!  It was crazy!  When I picked up Jackson, I asked Mom about it.  She said they also felt it.  She said that the couch started vibrating, and she thought that maybe something was wrong with their AC unit until she saw it on the news.

Jackson had therapy again on Wednesday.  He did great and hardly cried at all!  Miss Kelly said that she could tell a difference and to keep working on those exercises.  She thinks his head has filled out some too.  We have some exercises to add to the old ones.

Hurricane Irene was scheduled to hit the SC coast most of the week, but it made a turn and hit the NC coast instead.  It has just been a crazy week for natural disasters.

On Friday, we headed to Panchos in Central for dinner.  We met our friend Megan there.  It was Jackson's first time meeting Megan and we enjoyed catching up about the Big V!

Jackson's First Fan Day

Clemson's Fan Day was on Sunday.  Before we headed to Clemson, we celebrated Charlotte, Maria, and Murphy's birthdays.  They enjoyed their cakes and presents.  Jackson enjoyed watching them blow out the candles and open up their gifts.

Luckily it was not too hot in Clemson.  This year was different because none of the other cousins could come.  Tu Tu came to see Jackson at his first Fan Day though.  The t-shirt line was kind of long, so Tim, Tu Tu, Jackson, and I headed to the Tiger line.  We only had to wait about 15 minutes.  We got the cutest picture with the Tiger and the Tiger Cub!

Then we jumped in line with the Ivey's and got some football autographs and pictures.  The cheerleaders were there, and Maria and Charlotte were so excited about taking pictures with them.

We also took our picture at The Rock!  We had a great day!

11 Weeks Old

My first overalls!

Jackson is 11 weeks old today!  We are so blessed that he is such a good baby!  He went to his second therapy session on Wednesday and did pretty well.  We have to do more tummy time and work on our stretching exercises.  He has continued to wake up in a great mood.  I put him the carseat before Tim leaves, and we just talk and talk.  He is always wearing a big smile!  I am so glad that my mom can keep him, and gets all of that attention.  Plus, she can do all of his exercises.  I am not sure that would have happened in daycare!

We went shopping for new phones last night, and he just looked around the store.  He didn't make a sound!

We are planning to be lazy today!  (Yeah right!)  We have got to clean our house, and I have lots of school stuff today.

First Day of School and My Birthday

This year my birthday fell on the first day of school.  We got up extra early to make sure that we could get everyone ready. Jackson was up and ready to go to Noni's house.  He is always in such a good mood in the mornings.  I am not sure who he gets that from, because Tim and I are both cranky in the morning! Everything went smoothly for the first day of school.  I have been fortunate to have a student from Lander observing, and she has been such a blessing!  I couldn't wait to go pick up Jackson!

To celebrate my 30th birthday (Wow!  That sounds old!), we just had Mellow Mushroom at my parent's house. I was too tired to go out (That makes me seem really old!)! Tim picked up a European Chocolate cake from Strossner's that was wonderful!  (I totally blew points this week.  My grade level made me a cookie cake too!) Then I got to open my presents. Being as practical as I am, I am really excited that Tim got us some online software that backs up everything on the computer.  I don't want to lose any pictures!  I also got a fun frame, Clemson picture, necklace with Jackson's name on it, and a Pandora bracelet.  Of course, my mom did way too much as usual.  She says the bracelet is my birthday gift and Jackson gift!  I had a wonderful birthday.

Jackson is 10 weeks old!

I am absolutely exhausted! Since Thursday night, I have been working nonstop in my classroom. I am still sore from moving all of the boxes and cleaning!  It was crazy.  Jackson also made his first trip to school. He was very good!

Jackson is now 10 weeks old. He is getting so big! He slept from 10 pm-5 am. He stayed with Brent for awhile on Sunday while I did school work. Then Cookie, Ashlyn, and Sydney came to visit. He did all of his tricks for them!

Today was the longest that I have been away from Jackson.  He left around 7, and I did not get home until 8.  I missed him so much! I hate being away from him.

Day 2

Day 2 was definitely easier than Day 1.  Of course, the fact that Tim is taking Jackson to my mom's also makes it easier. Jackson gets a lot of attention and love from Noni, so I know he is in good hands.

Unfortunately, I will not have the weekend to relax and spend time with Jackson.  We were finally able to get into school today, and I will be cleaning all day tomorrow.  Maybe my classroom will be organized by Monday?

Today was Jackson's physical therapy evaluation. He did pretty good even though he did NOT like some of the exercises.  He does have a 10 degree head tilt, so we will go to therapy once a week and then we will have to do the exercises at home too at least 5 times a day! Hopefully, this will help strengthen his neck muscles and lessen the flatness on the back of his head. He kind of slumps sleeping in his rocker, so as of tonight, he is no longer sleeping there.  Tonight he will sleep in his bassinet.  I know I sound confident that this will happen.  I know it is wishful thinking.  I fully expect to get up every 20 minutes tonight.  Who knows? Maybe Jackson will surprise us!

The Dreaded Day

Well, the day I have been dreading all summer has finally arrived.  I have cried about his for the past two days.  It is my goal not to cry today! Jackson and I spent all day together yesterday.  We were taking our morning nap when he just started laughing.  It was so precious, and of course that set me off.  When I am at work, I won't be able to hear his giggles when he is sleeping. For some reason, he only does this in the morning. I have always loved my job and always looked forward to the beginning of a new year, but I don't want to even think about school this year.  I know that I am so blessed that my mom is taking care of Jackson. I can't even imagine how I would be acting if I had to take him to daycare! I know that Tim thinks I am crazy, but it is so hard to leave Jackson.

So my goal was not to cry, but of course I did!  I really tried hard not to!

Ready for Noni's!

Noni and Tu Tu came over to bring Jackson his present from Los Vegas!  It is so cute!  He loves his dancing gondolier dog!

I am really depressed right now.  I hate that I have to go back to work on Wednesday.  I have been crying all morning. I am so heartbroken about having to leave Jackson.  I am grateful that Mom will have him, but I do not want to leave him!  I have gotten on Tim's nerves about the whole thing I know.  He is tired of my crying.  I just hate all of the stuff that I am going to miss.  He is always in such a sweet mood in the morning, and now I am not going to get to enjoy that. I am hoping that I can get my all of my crying out of the way today and tomorrow, so I won't cry Wednesday morning.  I am buying a lottery ticket on Wednesday, so maybe we will win and I can quit!

Charleston 2011

We took Jackson on his first road trip this past weekend.  Even if it was short, it was nice to get away.  We left early Saturday morning and came back Sunday night. We stayed with Mike and Mardie in Charleston. Jackson loved his mini vacation.  He was so good the entire time we were gone! He did really well in the car and slept most of the time. He loved Mike and Mardie's house with all of the fans and lights. He loved being held by Mardie and Laurel. We ate dinner at the Crab House and he stayed awake the whole time and didn't make a sound!  He just took everything in.  He slept from 11:00 Saturday night until 6:15 Sunday morning.  That is a record!

We took Jackson to the beach at Kiawah on Sunday morning. It was beautiful, and Jackson loved it.  He was asleep at first, but soon woke up.  He did not like the sun in his eyes, but he loved putting his feet in the water!  It was so cute.  I can't wait to take him on the Griswald Beach Trip next summer!
Jackson's first trip to Firefly.  He is 9 Weeks Old!

Jackson doesn't like the sun in his eyes!

He loved the ocean!

Jackson loved putting his toes in the sand!

This is so fun!

Shem Creek Bar and Grill

We went to the outlets and got Jackson some cute clothes. Janie and Jack is my new favorite store.  Of course, I can only afford it when it is on sale. Then we went to Ragamuffin's in Mount Pleasant and bought some cute clothes on sale. Jackson also got his first pair of Sperry's!  They were originally $45, and I got them for $13.50!  I remember going to that store when Alexa was little!  Then we ate dinner at Shem Creek Bar and Grill.  We headed home after that.  Jackson was so happy to get out of his seat and stretch.
