Last Week of Summer Fun

Jackson had a great time at Summer Fun this year. He loved playing outside and getting to see Noni.  It was great for him to play with other kids. This last week he had water day and pizza day! Brooks and I got to run errands or just cuddle on the couch.

We have been busy getting ready for the beach, but we did make time to go swimming and riding on the golf cart with Parker. The boys loved it!

I am really excited about the beach, but I am sad at the same time. It means summer is over!

"Is it a great word or a bad word?"

Jackson asked me that question last night. He has learned some not so nice words, and we are trying to discourage him from using them. Now in his mind there are either great words or bad words.

We spent yesterday in Greenville with the Ivey kids and Noni. We started the day at the Museum because it was pouring rain. Jackson and Brooks were wild! They think the museum belongs to them! They spent a long time playing with the blocks and playing with the garbage truck. Brooks over course loved the water tables and got soaked. He pitched a nice little fit when left complete with screaming.

We had lunch at Frodo's and headed to the Zoo. It was still overcast and cool, so it was a perfect day. The kids had a great time running. Brooks loved watching these monkeys fight. Jackson loves all of the Ivey kids and loved running with them.  We played on the playground and had a snack. Jackson and Maria played dinosaurs and roared at everyone. Jackson loves to roar!

Father's Day

Ha!  I just realized that I never did a Father's Day post! We spent the afternoon swimming and then enjoyed dinner at Noni and Papa Jerry's.

Will's Party

Today we went to Will's party at the fire station.  Even though the boys were cranky, they had fun!

Planes Fire and Rescue

We took Jackson to see his first movie. It was the perfect thing for a rainy Saturday. We bought his favorite snacks-M&Ms and cookies. When we walked in the theater, he said, "Whoa!"

We also got him the kids snack pack because he was "so thirsty!" After sitting through 20 minutes of terrible previews, the movie started. It was really cute. Jackson did get tired of sitting. He said, "Let's get out of here!" Then the action picked up again. The cookies helped too!

We haven't been to the movies in years, and now I know why. It costs a small fortune! Thank goodness we had a gift card!

Jackson's Swimming Lessons-Part 2

Jackson has moved up to the preschool swimming class. He did not want to go the first day especially when he found out Brooks would be staying with Noni. He was really nervous at first, but then he was fine.

He doesn't always want to follow directions. Sometimes he likes to just play with the cups. He also wanted to stay in the water instead of sitting on the side.He is working on kicking and using his arms. He does not like floating on his back.

I did survive taking both boys by myself. Brooks wasn't too upset that he couldn't get in the water too.

By the second week, Jackson was excited about "swim lessons." He has gained a lot of confidence in the water. I am so proud of how independent he was. He even got in the boat and loved it. He can swim across the pool with the life belt. He still needs to work on floating and jumping in on his own.

Brooks went several times and was pretty good. The boys loved playing in the water park when Jackson finished. They love getting splashed in the face!

Zoo Camp and the Past Week

We have had a busy but relaxing week. Jackson finished up swimming lessons, and we went to the water park every night. The boys got to play with the Ivey kids. Maria even came swimming with us. Parker came swimming with us one night too. Then the boys played at Parker's house. We also went to Story Time at the library and got medals for reading.

Jackson had a blast at Summer Fun. He loves getting to play on the playground, and I love that he gets to play with other kids.

I took Brooks to the doctor. He has been running a fever on and off the past few weeks. He also has been waking up several times during the night (We are all tired!). His appetite has been off too (He now weighs 24lbs 1oz). I knew all of his back molars were trying to come through, but one of his molars is really red and inflamed. $70 dollars later we were on our way with instructions to give Motrin like I had been doing. I am glad he doesn't have an ear infection.

"I'm so lucky!" Those were Jackson's words tonight.

He went to Zoo Camp with Tim today. He got a name tag and water bottle. He also got to see the orangatans up close. He also made a peacock. Brooks and I enjoyed the playground and zoo while they were at camp. The weather was perfect, cool and overcast. This was the first time Brooks got to run around the zoo. He loved it! His favorite animals are monkeys and giraffes.

We also went to Toys R Us. The boys played with the train table for a long time. They never want to play with ours at home!

We played outside and enjoyed the cool weather and then enjoyed ice cream. We are trying to soak up every last bit of summer. I only have three weeks left, and I am so depressed! Our summer is so different this year. We had a newborn last year, and this year we have two wild boys who can be difficult at times.
