CPC Art Show and Open House

The boys had their annual art show and open house tonight.  They were both excited, especially Jackson!  I am sad that this is last one at Central.  We walked in and saw a sign with balloons, and Brooks announced, "It's my birthday!"  Crazy kid!

We looked at Brooks' art first.  He was so excited that he could not stop jumping up and down. He was crazy!

Then we looked at Jackson's art.  He told us all about it. He is most proud of his Starry Night painting. He was excited to see some of his friends there too.

We tried to take pictures after wards but they were too wild.

We celebrated with dinner at Moe's!

Sunday

The children led worship this morning at church. They did such a great job. Jackson's choir sang 3 songs and did wonderfully. I love how he gets excited about choir, and seeing his friends.

We ate a quick lunch at home and then went to pick strawberries. The fields were filled. Of course Brooks would pick and then take a bite. The boys had fun picking, but loved the goats the best. Brooks loved feeding them and even tried to eat the corn himself.

We ended our day with some batting practice with Papa Jerry and dinner fixed by Noni.  We are getting ready for a busy week with something every single night. Happy Sunday!

What a Week!

This has been one of those weeks that was just physically, mentally, and emotionally draining. We started state testing which is always very stressful. Testing on Chromebooks this year made it more stressful. It wasn't like I was sleeping anyway, but I am always restless before the tests and usually have some sort of nightmare. We made it through the first 3 days, and my kids have 2 more in May. I was exhausted and sore by the time I finally got to sit down at night. We are required to monitor and walk around our rooms at all times, so I easily made 8,000steps before lunch.

It seems like we had something every afternoon or evening. It has been one of those weeks when I have come home in a bad mood and been impatient with the boys. I don't feel like I am doing anything right as a parent. I have so much to do at school before my last day on May 4th that I could move into school and not get it all done. Because of all of the testing, we don't get a planning time. I have my kids the entire day so that means I have more to do after school.

I also have a lot to get done at home before the baby comes (induction is set for May 12th right now if he isn't already here).  It should be easy because the boys are asleep by 8:00, but I mean all of the boys (Tim included). I can't carry things from the attic or bend over to clean things up though. I can't reach clothes in the washer or reach tall cabinets any more. I am kind of at a loss since I don't have any help.

One good thing that happened this week was that I was accepted to the Phil Mickelson ExxonMobile Science Academy this summer. It is a one-week all paid PD in New Jersey right across from the river from NYC. It is the end of July. I applied last summer before we knew about James Walker.  I am trying to decide what to do. I would love to go, but I feel like I need to stay home.

I am stilling trying to decide what to do about Jackson and kindergarten.  I would love to keep him at Central another year, but I have no idea how we would make that work.

Diamond Day

Jackson had Diamond Day today where all the YMCA teams have their pictures made and then play a game. We were at the ball fields from 11:30-1:45. That was a long time, but thankfully the weather was nice. Jackson did great for his pictures.

He got to hit a few times today. We need to work on that because he is aiming for the tee and not the ball. He also got to play 3rd base, pitcher and in between first and second. He had a ball come right to him when he played pitcher, and he remembered to throw it to first. I think he likes being in the dugout the best! He had a big fan club today- Noni, TuTu, Luvi, GiGi, and Will came to watch.

Brooks, Grady, and Will played in the dirt and enjoyed slushies. Brooks loved looking at everyone's dirty face.

Jackson had to go to a birthday party right after the game for his friend Sarah. He just loves her! He played with her and Ella.

After dinner their daddy let them in the sprinkler even though it wasn't really warm enough. Poor Brooks shivered for 20 minutes after I brought him in the house!
