What a Week!

This has been one of those weeks that was just physically, mentally, and emotionally draining. We started state testing which is always very stressful. Testing on Chromebooks this year made it more stressful. It wasn't like I was sleeping anyway, but I am always restless before the tests and usually have some sort of nightmare. We made it through the first 3 days, and my kids have 2 more in May. I was exhausted and sore by the time I finally got to sit down at night. We are required to monitor and walk around our rooms at all times, so I easily made 8,000steps before lunch.

It seems like we had something every afternoon or evening. It has been one of those weeks when I have come home in a bad mood and been impatient with the boys. I don't feel like I am doing anything right as a parent. I have so much to do at school before my last day on May 4th that I could move into school and not get it all done. Because of all of the testing, we don't get a planning time. I have my kids the entire day so that means I have more to do after school.

I also have a lot to get done at home before the baby comes (induction is set for May 12th right now if he isn't already here).  It should be easy because the boys are asleep by 8:00, but I mean all of the boys (Tim included). I can't carry things from the attic or bend over to clean things up though. I can't reach clothes in the washer or reach tall cabinets any more. I am kind of at a loss since I don't have any help.

One good thing that happened this week was that I was accepted to the Phil Mickelson ExxonMobile Science Academy this summer. It is a one-week all paid PD in New Jersey right across from the river from NYC. It is the end of July. I applied last summer before we knew about James Walker.  I am trying to decide what to do. I would love to go, but I feel like I need to stay home.

I am stilling trying to decide what to do about Jackson and kindergarten.  I would love to keep him at Central another year, but I have no idea how we would make that work.
