Jason Mraz

Tim and I went to see Jason Mraz at the Peace Center last week (after a yummy dinner at The Orient in downtown Greenville.) He puts on an awesome concert! The opening act was horrible, but he made up for it! He made sure the audience was involved and into the whole time. He brought some audience members up on stage for one song. The one woman volunteered her husband to go up there and dance. He was terrible! I felt so sorry for him. I couldn't believe his wife would embarrass him that way. Towards the end of the song Jason Mraz asked the wife to come up on stage too. She was even worse than her husband! It was amusing though!

I am excited about our tickets to see Darius Rucker at the end of October! Thanks Tim for being such a wonderful husband and getting us tickets!

Furloughs and Fridays

I have to admit that I was not happy about furloughs at the end of last year. I did not want my check cut yet again! However, now that the school year has started, I am so loving furlough days! We had our second one this past Friday, and I loved every minute of it especially after my Thursday! It was so nice hanging around the house on Friday, getting school stuff done, cleaning up the house, and exercising (the hour Zumba DVD)! I could get used to having 4-day weeks.

We had a busy rest of the weekend. Charlotte and Maria spent Friday night with us, and then we took all of the kids to Greenville on Saturday. We walked down to Linky Stone Children's Garden. it is so pretty and peaceful there. I definitely recommend going there if you haven't. We also took a ride on the trolley. The weather was perfect, and there was a great breeze even if it was 90 degrees. That is the best free entertainment around. The ride is about 30 minutes round trip. The kids loved it!

Sunday brought rain! It has been about a month since we have had any! It was a great day to take a nap and get ready for the upcoming week. I think that summer temperatures are finally gone. It makes me a little sad. I love summer and warm weather. I hate winter and cold weather!

Another Busy Weekend

Okay, so I really need to come up with a new title. The problem is that I only have time to do this on the weekend. We are finally getting used to the new school year routine. Even though it is the end of September, it is still in the 90s here. It is too hot to be almost October!

This weekend Tim played with a new toy. He aerated the lawn! Talk about exciting things! We also cleaned up the screen porch and finally got our "outdoor room" complete. It looks pretty good! We are moving on to scraping and painting windows next! I don't think I will get as in to that as I did the screen porch.

We did take a break from working this week to go to the Anderson Greek Festival. It was fun, and we ate some great food! We also spent some time with the animals!

When it rains, it pours!

Tim and I were looking forward to a great 3 day weekend! Then we had issues with our dishwasher on Friday night. Actually, we have had issues with the dishwasher for 2 years. Our oven has not been working that well either. Instead of going to NYC (we were thinking about it) in October, we bought a new dishwasher and stove!
On Saturday, we did go tailgate at the Clemson game. We had fun even though we had to walk forever. However Kristi and Mack had a spot in Valley Walk, so it was fun seeing how some of these people tailgate every week! We went to the Apple Festival in Hendersonville on Sunday. We have decided that we will probably not go back there. It was kind of boring. Old Time Pottery and Marshall's made up for it though. When we got home Sunday night, there was a huge branch in our driveway. Thankfully we did not have a car parked there! Now we have to get someone to come fix the roof and trim our neighbor's trees!

When they delivered the new stove and dishwasher today, we realized how uneven our counter tops really were. We knew they were uneven, but we did not realize they were this bad! Now we have to get new counter tops. Our new dishwasher does not open all the way, so they have to come back again on Wednesday, and Tim has to waste a vacation day for it. This just seems to be how our luck has been going lately! Hopefully things will get better!
