Warm Weekend

It was unusually warm this weekend ( in the 60s). We went to the Botanical Gardens and went for a hike. The boys loved running around, but Jackson got tired. He kept telling he was running out of gas. He takes his love of cars to the extreme! We went to get some Clemson ice cream after the "hike." Other people had the same idea, and the line was very long! Brooks couldn't handle the wait, so he and I wandered around the bookstore. We got back just in time. He and I shared some apple pie ice cream. Jackson got his own cone of mint chocolate chip. This was the first time he had his own cone, and he was so excited!

We are ready for Spring! Bring on warm weather!

Brynlee's Party

We headed to Charleston for the weekend for Brynlee's birthday party. The boys were so excited to play on her swing set. Brooks got in the jumpy castle for a few minutes. Jackson never did. They had fun decorating cookies and eating cake. Brooks ate a ton of queso.  They had the most fun playing in her playroom.

It was great finally getting to see sweet Reed. The older ones enjoyed playing together. Brooks loved all of Mike and Mardie's dogs especially Mya. He was amazed at her size.

We are lunch downtown and went on a carriage ride before leaving. Jackson wanted to go on, and one company has them free this weekend. Jackson fell asleep right after we pulled out of the barn. Brooks was loving it. Every time we stopped, he said " uh oh." It was so funny. He was soon asleep too. It was a nice ride even if it was a little chilly.

Life is Busy

We are back in full swing with work, school, church, and all of daily stuff! Being lazy for two was nice, but it is nice to be on a schedule.

It has been so cold and cloudy here the past two weeks. We finally saw the sun on Friday!

Last Sunday we went to the Upstate History Museum for their family day. Curious George was there! Brooks absolutely loves him. He makes monkey noises to let us know he wants to watch it. Little Man did not want to wait in line to meet George. When it was out turn, Brooks ran up to George and just stared at him. It was so cute! Boy boys sat with George!  Then we did a scavenger hunt and colored some pictures of George.  We decided to play at the Childrens Museum too since it was so yucky out! The boys think they own the place. They had the most fun playing in the farm area together. Brooks even got Jackson to slide!

The bunk beds also came, and we got them put together last weekend! Jackson is actually sleeping on the bottom tonight. We will see if he stays all night. I am a little bit sad about it.

It was actually sunny today and warmer but still cold to me (50s), but we went to the zoo. The boys love running there and playing on the playground. We ate lunch at one of Jackson's favorite places- American Burger. Both boys actually eat a grilled cheese from there. Then we played at the airplane park. Jackson took his new soccer ball and kicked it. Brooks went on every slide. Our last stop was Costco. The Michilen Man was there and gave the boys a bouncy ball.

We played outside when we got home! We are excited about the rest of the 3-day weekend!

Brooks is 20 Months Old

My Brooksie is 20 months old! That is crazy!

Brooks:

  • Wears size 18 m
  • Weighs
  • Size 5 diapers
  • Has become a very picky eater! Only eats applesauce, crackers, cheese, yogurt, fruit snacks, and anything sweet! He occasionally eats chicken nuggets, pizza, grilled cheese, and some fruits.
  • Loves to watch Curious George, Daniel Tiger, Nemo, Cars, Thomas, and Chuggington
  • Loves to play with everything Jackson does- cars, trucks, trains, puzzles, books, balls
  • Loves to read Llama Llama books, The Little Blue Truck, and That's Not My...
  • Does not like to take naps or go to bed! Sometimes we have to hold him down!
  • Is a dare devil! He climbs on anything and everything!
  • Has learned to walk down the stairs holding someone's eyes.
  • His favorite word is no! He also loves to call for "help!" It is so funny! He does this when Jackson is bothering him and when he wants someone to get him out of bed. He also does this when he gets stuck somewhere.
  • He likes to ask "Why?"-
  • Still loves to cuddle.
  • Is usually happy but gets his feelings hurt easily especially when Jackson doesn't share.
Brooks,
We love your sweet and easygoing personality!

January 2 and January 3

January 2
Both Brooks and I went to the doctor today. He now has an ear infection, and I have a sinus infection.  $200 later and a reminder that our deductible has increased by a hundred dollars, we hope to be feeling better by the end of the weekend. Of course, that is just in time to go back to work. I am very thankful that we don't have anything worse. The flu is terrible here right now, so we plan to stay away from crowded places for awhile including the museum. We all had flu shots, but that doesn't seem to matter this year.

Tim and Jackson are not feeling the greatest either. I am hoping they don't get any worse.

It is supposed to rain all weekend. It has rained so much these past two weeks. I am ready for sun and 70 degrees!

January 3
We are definitely tired of the rain!  We made a quick trip to Costco, but otherwise we have been stuck in the house!

I did actually update all of the posts with pictures. I know it is about time.  That should probably be my goal for this year!

New Years Day

3 out of the 4 of us are sick. Tim feels better than Brooks and I do. We had a lazy morning and then packed up our Christmas decorations. I only thought decorating with little hands was hard, but undecorating was even more challenging. Brooks only wanted to grab the breakable ornaments. Jackson didn't want to put anything away. He kept telling me it was still Christmas. He wanted to keep out all of his "friends" - the nutcrackers and stuffed animals.  He also wanted to put al of his toys in the attic so Santa would come and bring new toys. He also claimed to see Santa get out of a car parked across the street. Who knows?

We finally got everything cleaned up with the help of the boys. Tim worked in the yard the rest of the day. The boys and I stayed in the playroom until dinner. Then we marched around the house-that is a favorite right now for the boys. We usually count. Brooks repeats 3 over and over.

Jackson also asked me to sing" bake a raker" at bedtime or better known as Hickory Dickory Dock.

Goals for 2015

Happy New Year! I am trying to set meaningful and realistic goals this year.

  • Put all of my earnings from my second job into savings ( at least until Brooks starts school in August).
  • Read 10 books
  • Exercise 4-5 times a week
  • Eat healthier
  • Get rid of clutter and try to sell things we don't use
  • Clean out the attic
  • Get more involved with church
  • Devote less time to school and more time to things that are important and will improve my physical and mental health
  • Work on paying off credit cards (realizing how stupid it was for me to take all of these classes-complete waste of a whole lot of money charged on my credit card)
  • Try to cut back on as much as possible so we can get out of this house as soon as possible
  • Stop complaining about this house and hopefully one day my children will have a safe place to play outside. Our street is too dangerous with cars flying 40-50mph.
  • Being grateful
