What a week!

Last week was crazy at home and school. First of all, it was the first of three weeks of standardized testing at school. Last week all of the tests were timed, and everyone was really stressed. Of course I also had bus duty and had to take everything off the walls in my classroom for testing.

Then Brooks decided to fall down the stairs Monday night. He tumbled about halfway down around 7:45. His nose was really red and scratched. He was screaming! Then after a few minutes was fine. We decided to take him to Kids Care, an urgent care for kids. My mom met us there and took Jackson home with her. Thankfully we were the only ones there and were taken right back. We both had to hold Brooks down while the doctor examind him. She didn't think his nose was broken, but we were instructed to watch it. She also didn't think he had a head injury, but she still wanted us to wake him up every 2 hours to make sure he was okay. She even said we could have a medical excuse for work the next day since we would be up all night- of course on the first day of testing! It would have been nice to get to use it.  Before we left, he was already trying to jump off the chairs. We decided to rent Unbroken and get a coffee since we would be up all night. It was definitely not fun waking him up. He hates to be woken up anyway. It was a long night!

To celebrate making it through the week, we went to pick strawberries and eat pizza on Friday night. We went to the same place we always do, but there were not as many berries. The boys LOVED watching the two labs swim in the water though.

On Saturday we went to the fair. I hate the fair! Jackson had been begging to go, and they were offering free admission and rides from 10-11. We went and rode the carousel twice. Brooks loved it. Jackson was a little scared but had fun once it started. Brooks was too little to ride anything else, and Jackson was too scared too. That was fine by me though. The ride operators were a little sketchy.

We headed to Greenville after that for the Reedy River Duck Derby. They send thousands of rubber ducks over the falls to raise money for the Rotary Club. This is the first year there has been nice weather in a long time. We ate lunch outside at American Roadside before walking the Falls. The boys had the most fun climbing on the rocks. It was crowded and hard to see from the bottom of the falls. We found our spot for next year.

We found out late Saturday afternoon that some people wanted to come look at our house (It is not on the market, but I would sell it today if someone would make an offer.) Tim and I frantically started cleaning and de cluttering. It wasn't disgusting or anything, but when everyone is gone from 7-5 everyday, piles start to form. I took the boys to spend the night with my parents. When we were leaving, Brooks ran right into the van door, bounced off, and landed in the driveway.

The people came to look today, but I don't think anything will come of it.  We are hoping to have a calmer week!
