Jackson is 6 Months Old!

It seems like just yesterday that I was writing Jackson's 5 month post, and now he is 6 months old!  That is half of a year!  Time is going crazy fast! We have had a lot of first this past month!

At six months, Jackson:
  • Eats rice cereal and oatmeal.  He is still drinking 5 oz formula 5 times a day.  We are starting baby food this week!
  • Jackson can sit up by himself!  He is so proud!
  • We are still working on rolling over.  He is doing it more and more when guided.  He is so close!
  • He tolerates tummy time more now.  I think he even likes it sometimes.
  • He is wearing mostly 9 month clothes even though some of those are too small/short.
  • He wears size 3 diapers.
  • He weights 19lbs, 10oz (thanks to our Saturday doctor visit!)
  • Jackson still loves to take a bath. We still have not found a bathtub that we love.
  • He LOVES Elmo!  He especially loves to watch Elmo and Katy Perry videos on YouTube! There have been several times when we have had to sing Elmo to settle him down.
  • He thinks it is hilarious when he sneezes.
  • He loves to read books. ( I hope that continues!)
  • Jackson is still going to therapy once a week.  He has made great progress, and still loves Ms. Kelly. His head is rounding out. We just have to roll over!
  • He usually goes to bed around 8:00-8:30.  He will sleep until 6:30 or later if it is not a school day.  He was doing really good sleeping in the Pack'n'Play, but he has been sleeping in his rocker since his cold. Tim and Jackson like to cuddle on our bed around 8:00, and that is how Jackson falls asleep (Tim too sometimes. I know that we should just lay him in his crib and let him cry which we have tried.  It is so hard though when you are away from him for so long during the day. You want to spend as much as possible with him even if it is cuddling on the bed.)
  • Jackson still loves to cuddle.
  • His favorite toys right now are his rolling ball, bee, and ocean toy.  He still loves his giraffe! He loves anything Elmo. He loves the Jumperoo.
  • He is definitely teething, because everything goes in his mouth.  He is also drooling a lot.
  • Jackson talks and giggles all of the time. He hasn't said any real words, but I think that he says "MAAAAAMAA" when he is upset!
  • This past month Jackson celebrated his first Thanksgiving.
  • Jackson definitely has some attachment issues now.  He knows when a stranger talks to him or holds him. He gets so excited when I get home from work (which makes my world!). I love to see his face when Tim gets home.  It is too cute how excited he gets!
  • He still takes his paci. We still have to hide them from Max. (Max might like a paci more than Jackson.)
  • He is at such a cute age right now.  It seems like it just gets better.

Yummy-Peas!
